Laptop issue

Ok I have a Dell Inspiron laptop (1564) that I'm trying to fix for my dad.

 

It won't connect to Wi-Fi. Saying the modem was removed. I went to dell.com to download drivers and problem is still there?

 

When I open Network Connections, under wireless it says "unavailable - device missing"

 

Wat do?

I'm guessing your wireless card went out. Or it was disconnected, was it ever repaired at a shop?

 

Or try this.

 

Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > On the left you should see Change adapter settings, click on that and see if your Wireless card is disabled. If it is, right click it then click enable.

It just says wireless is unavailable.

Just for grins; what about the wired/ethernet port?

If both aren't working then it could be an OS problem.

Yeah the Ethernet port is fine.

 

I coudnt find a solution anywhere, so I guess I'll just reinstall the OS.
