Ventuofthewind
Welp, Just coming here to see if there is anyway to tell whats causing the crash. Now I don't really know whats causing it, I have seen a Fatal error pop up once that said "ZLIB20 FATAL ERROR" today. But I'm not seeing that now, all the game does not is just quit to the desktop and the GTAIV.exe windows still open. :| I know my computer is a bit under recommended requirements but I'm playing on high settings with hardly no lag. Here is the specs of my rig, OS- Windows 7 x64 CPU- AMD Athlon II X2 260 3.20ghz RAM- 4GB VIDEO- EVGA GT 630 1GB GTAIV's Benchmark Statistics Average FPS: 40.61 Duration: 37.06 sec CPU Usage: 96% System memory usage: 76% Video memory usage: 87% Graphics Settings Video Mode: 1280 x 1024 (60 Hz) Texture Quality: High Render Quality: Highest View Distance: 10 Detail Distance: 8 Hardware Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 Video Driver version: 314.22 Audio Adapter: Speakers (High Definition Audio Device) AMD Athlon II X2 260 Processor File ID: Benchmark.cli Well hopefully someone might be able to give me some info. Girish
Have you tried lowering the settings? Does the game still crash then? I'm assuming you don't have any mods installed.

No I haven't tried lowering my settings except the View Distance and Detail Distance. And I had like one car mod installed and I've removed it to see if that caused the problem. But it still randomly crashed. So I'm guess maybe to mod didn't do it. Maybe I should try re installing it to refresh the install. EDIT: Tried low settings and still crashing, and re installed and still crashing. Bummer... :| Edited April 18, 2013 by Ventuofthewind
Miro
You said you had a car mod, so maybe the crash only encounters when you reach the modded vehicle. Are you sure you've completely removed / un-installed the mod correctly? Usually, when installing a mod that replaces a file, you're asked in the readme.txt to make a back-up of the replaced file. In case that mod is using an installer, it should have an un-installer as well. If not, you should find the mod in the Control Panel - Remove Programs page. Besides, where do you have the game from? Are you playing with the DVD in your Drive? Have you tried maybe removing your game settings? - Mod data could still be saved in it, which might cause the crashing. I've completely removed the car mod, and restored the default car as I made a backup of it And I've not yet tried deleting the game settings, I'll try that as soon as I can. And about where I have the game from, I just bought the game from Walmart for $15. And I have the dvd in the drive. so I don't think that's the problem. (And I'm going to be re-installing the game today, I purged it from my system yesterday <.<)
