Ben73
Well if someone drives a car into the side of your train, then the rear end derails on a bridge between 2 mountains, then yes it will look like that. But if you hit a car in the middle of the city it wont. I'm a train driver irl and would love to drive a train through that sort of landscape. Makes my normal route look like sh*t. Keep in mind this is american trains were talking about, european high speed trains like this aren't built that durable like american trains are. I know this cause I am a railfan Question: What companies manufacture the locomotives your area of the world uses? initium
I think Rockstar may have been inspired by this movie. Just look at the bridge in the valley

LOL For those who give us bad reputation, look for the photo of the fool standing in the gauge while chasing NKP 765 Just say train rather than "NKP 3489457390856349" or whatever. The thing I hate about foamers is that they go too into specifics. I can understand going into specifics at a model train expo or when you're surrounded by fellow railfans, but for f*cks sake, this is a forum for a video game. Not everybody knows about trains as much as you or me. However, I do my best to control myself. Most I'll go into when talking about trains on here is specifying whether or not a train is a steam engine or a diesel. You don't see me posting "HURR I HOPE THAT THERES A 1938 GWR 1400 CLASS IN LOS SANTOSSS I DONT CARE IF ITS FROM THE UK I WANT TO SEE IT IN LOS SANTOS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" RomansMoobs
I think it will be like the crane in GTA 4 EFLC, we'll get to blow it up, but it's not an out of mission thing, also like the car depot you blow up with Niko.
gta5freemode4eva
It would be fantastic if the crashes/collisions were life like but I doubt they will be. It would also be cool to actually crash/de-rail trains outside of missions but again, not sure if we will be able to.

Here are the 2 locos I drive. Normally we have coal wagons attached though. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7094/7162930...e96c73728_z.jpg
saintsrow
Yes, I want realistic train physics and high speed / collision derailments and train crashes that we can set up and control. That will be great fun. It would be a shame to have such great train routes in an HD landscape like GTAV, and not be able to do this.
Shadewell
I think that the trains in GTA5 will be like the train in GTA4. They will push everything out of their way. Derailing only scripted. I dont know which kinds of trains will be on the rails of V. But I think this big yellow train we have seen in the trailer could easily push every car on the rails away. Just like in the movie "Unstoppable". In the you can see what i mean. Even the physics of cars that are crashing are unrealistic, so how could Rockstar implement a crashing train, without making it look bad as hell? Imagine tons of metal sliding "into" (more like against...) a house without causing even a scratch? That would be one hell of a glitching, bugging, game crashing disaster.
