It's hardcoded, and kinda stupid to change. It would just create immersive amount of lag, as even the amount of grass in non-modded San Andreas seems to lag a lot for some people.

More immersion is a good thing! Oh wait tounge.gif

On a serious note, this mod isn't aimed at those who already have problems running SA, but I see your point smile.gif

At some point you might reach a stage when it lags even on supercomputers. Just like when using 3mb+ big vehicle DFFs in game, or setting FOV to 179 degrees.

I really have no clue why any window car is disappearing like trees. I tried to think of reasons, but I ended with nothing. The problem is somehow connected with anything else that is flickering. Strange because cars had to have the same problem, but only windows ? notify.gif

I will start work on 4x later today, word of warning though, I will not test it at all! My 6 year old GPU won't like it. On a side note it looks as if the draw distance of grass may be hardcoded, I could be wrong, but we shall see smile.gif

Lol man why not test it? My pc has tested all kinds of sh*t playing at less than 1 FPS.

That ASI works for me, so simple 2 WORD values changed, but yet it took ages to figure it out.

IMO 2x for grass should be enough, but 4x for trees is desired, but perfect would be script which allows to put them in lod files...

Well there has only been two versions, and when I updated the links I posted telling everyone, as for the changelog, it would amount to changed some IDE values that weren't changed, switched from SALA to cleo...and since the test fix isn't actually a release I don't include it in the mod, I just supply a link in the first post smile.gif

This morning I searched for this mod to get to this thread quickly, and I found this

GTA SA - 2x Object Draw Distance BETA

Well atleast they sort of gave me credit...even if they did steal your image @JF-Mir2, an image that shows far, far more than 2x on those palms, then they watermarked it, as if it was theirs...

There's not even so much as a link here

Tested 4x DD, huge flickering, didn't crash, but rather closed on its own after a few seconds of gameplay, no error messages, nothing, it just closed. Gonna test with test.asi now.

 

EDIT: That was my photo? tounge.gif It's not. lol

EDIT2: Game crashed after a few seconds with test.asi, too. confused.gif Note that it crashed this time, and didn't close on it's own. Flickering was gone, though.

4xDD - Flickering and slowdowns.

4xDD with test.asi - Fixed flickering, still slowlows and the game crashes.

I only get a few seconds, less than a minute, then game closes/crashes on its own. confused.gif Maybe it's my GPU, or maybe 4x is just 'too much' for the game to handle?

It can't be the engine, as I get 5+ minutes (that might well be the engine though)

It can't be your's and KawakSallas's GPU, surely not...

Tested again - With test.asi the flickering is gone, but I got huge slowdows. Didn't crashed this time.

Hm .. tested again as well, game crashes while flying. Doesn't crash while walking, running, whatever.
