Earliest 2 weeks before release, normaly 1 day before release or on the release date, latest 4 weeks, if you order it from the other side of the earth. There is a difference though between the game being at the store and the game being for sale. When a store orders the game from Rockstar they will be prohibited from selling the game until launch day. Some retailers will go ahead anyway but technically they are not supposed to. I know with GTA:SA Rockstar decided to reward those who had pre-ordered by telling places they could fill pre-orders begining at 7 p.m. the day before launch. kb8618 Posted April 18, 2013 Share Posted April 18, 2013 when i preordered GTA IV it arrived the day before release, i think they aren't allowed to ship it early anymore cuz publishers/game studios made a big fuss about it. GTA SA i preordered at a store and was able to pick it up at 9pm or 10pm the day before.
