Racecarlock
who cares, Just Cause is a boring piece of sh*t. Name me another game where I can surf a plane to a giant double blimp that has a strip club on it. I agree with him... Just Cause is a boring piece of sh*t. I rented it and I didn't like it. How is plane surfing boring?

How is plane surfing boring? Well the action is not boring... But I just don't like it... I find that the gameplay wasn't good enough for me... Sure it's fun to be able to do crazy things like that, but I just think that the game doesn't play that good. But anyway, it's my personnal taste... Freezer89
Minecraft isn't an open world game. It's a sh*tty, troll fested game full of kids who think building 10 pixel blocks is fun. What an ignorant statement. Just because someone enjoys building stuff in Minecraft, that doesn't make them "kids". At least they're actually trying to be creative. I wasn't implying that to EVERYONE. I know for a fact that there is so many kids on that game that troll around badly online, and think its the best game. Also, we are talking about open world games in this topic, not a lego wannabe game (another joke). You clearly don't understand Minecraft then.. it's simply not just a "Lego game". It's way more than that. And Minecraft can't be more open world.. If you want to criticize a game, do it right please. Anyways, I don't have words for OP (why even, he is banned...). JC2 was too big but also not that boring. In multiplayer it can be fun. And as mentioned plane surfing is awesome.

linux2k
As much as I enjoy mindlessly causing chaos in JC2 and driving/flying/stunting around the huge map, I do agree with the consensus that while big, it may feel boring if you're just going for a drive. But I really don't know who plays JC2 for the drive though...Its a different playing style in GTA vs. JC2. Because of this, I think GTAV will be smaller but far more detailed. Lock n' Stock
Barely touched Just Cause 2 to be honest. I give the developers credit for creating a huge map, but there isn't much to do in it other than drive/fly around and blow sh*t up.
Spider-Vice
Just Cause 2 has a software-generated map, they put an algorithm and let it do its thing. It's called procedural generation. GTA V is fully made from scratch, so it might not be bigger but it'll be much better. How is plane surfing boring? It's like anything else, plane surfing was fun the first 20 times but now it is a bit stale. Honestly once the (repetitive) story mode was completed the only things worth doing were base jumping, skydiving and vehicle surfing. It doesn't matter how crazy or outlandish activities are in a game, if you don't have variety, it's going to get boring.
Mister Pink
I'd love a huge map but not loose any detail. Actually I think I'd prefer the illusion of a huge map like San Andreas. The main freeway went the long way from LS to San Fierro which was nice to speed a long and felt like you were travelling great distances, which you were as you were going the long way - but insanely fast. If you went through the countryside the roads winded so much and there were river spots that if you didn't go around them, you'd get "trapped." So give me loads of detail, decent sized map but make seem bigger by using clever map design without making it too obvious. To answer the OP. No. RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)

DoomsdayFAN
Hopefully GTA VI will be bigger than Just Cause 2, all while being as super dense with cool and unique stuff to do as GTA V.
dyspoid
I dont want to be a party pooper, but I thought it was pretty obvious that the Gta V map is nowhere near that large. I know that they mentioned that the map will be around the size of SA, RDR and IV combined, but from the look of the screens, this is not the case... Personally, I would be content with the city area of V being the size of two of LCs islands, and a decent countryside.
DeafMetal
GTA V will be about as big as GTA SA + GTA IV + RDR = about 5x GTA SA a little comparison for GTA SA, JC2 and the biggest game ever FUEL. so not even close to JC2 1 mile in JC2 != 1 mile in GTA

DJ_McLovin
JC2 was so damn large because it lacked a detailed map. It had repetitive buildings and vegetation that didn't take up much space; thus you can see why it had a large map.
killerguy204
I want future GTA maps to be big as fuel. If we can with a lot of detail.

straightandfast
No. I wouldn't want it to be as big as JC2 because that map is a piece of sh*t. Takes forever to get anywhere in a jet so a car is right out. When you get where you're going to you realise it was a waste of time because there is nothing to do. So boring. The only way I'd like it is if the entire map is detailed like every other GTA game. I trust Rockstar would do that but I think we're a long way off before we get a detailed map that size. JC2 got away with it because it's all the same objects everywhere you go so it's just loading the same trees/cars/roads/textures.
