What is the point on Expensive toys when you can

I don't think that you can steal them, because I think that it's more than just weapons or cars. And if you want to cheat, it's your choice.

It's so people who don't cheat can get the feeling of earning whatever toys they want, while not putting out people who want instant gratification. Everyone wins, what's the problem with that?

Thats actually a terrible analogy. Most skinny guys use steroids because its physically impossible for them to get big.

 

Anyway, with op's logic there might as well not even be money in the game at all since you can just use cheats.

 

ALOT of gamers dont use cheats right away because they enjoy the challenge of the game. A game isnt a game if there are no rules. It just pandemoniom

Firstly, no one has ever said that expensive toys would be guns.

Also, no one said they could be something we could get by cheating or stealing.

As you already know, games have ways of keeping things locked if they want them to be, and the majority of us dont cheat until after the story is completed.

Because It´s a lot better, earning money and having a porpouse to use it instead of having 1.000.000$ and don´t have anything to waste it (like GTA IV), btw the use of cheats ruin the game experience, we don´t even know if there will be cheats for those expensive toys AND we don´t know what kind of expensive toys will be, Im guessing cars, guns, attatchments, clothes, who knows.

I see your point but we don't know what 'toys' are available and maybe R* will not make these toys gain-able through cheating... BUT for those people that don't have the time to play the game thoroughly enough to unlock everything... then a cheat to get everything would be nice. Why should the people that don't have the time to play lose out?

 

With all that said, it does feel so much better to 'earn' your bits and bobs. Maybe they'll give us cheats for lots of things, but there will be toys that we gain through missions/tasks etc as rewards.

 

Another idea is that there could be 2 versions of the same item. The 'cheated' item would be normal. The reward item is more powerful/useful etc.

 

I just really really hope that they give us lots and lots and lots of toys and a big wide variety of stuff and hope that these toys are actually FUN and not just the normal cars, planes and guns. They need to think outside the box. I've had normal cars, planes and guns since the 1st gta (minus planes ofc)... something different please R*. I do want special cars n guns n planes etc etc but something different would be very cool. I GUARANTEE that every single game developer and player will play GTA 5 at some point... and GTA 5 has kinda been hyped as a landmark game so this is R*s chance to again stake their reputation at the top of the pile. GIVE US LOTSA TOYS!!!!!

I use the hell out of cheats, but that doesn't mean everyone does. I think quite a lot of people will not want to lock achievements in their game just to spawn cars.

I have to say I really do pity you. What's the fun in cheating all the time? Maybe some of us want to do it the right way and EARN these things, because it is more rewarding. This whole game is about the pursuit of money and it is going to be useless to you.

I don't think the fact that he's using cheats is bad. I use them all the time, even during the story.

 

It's kind of stupid to bitch about things being too easy when you use them though.

You will only be cheating yourself out of the fun and satisfaction of earning the toys. Its like wen u was a kid if it was christmas everyday it wud jus get a bit boring, its all about the build up and exitment of looking forward to getting something you av to work for. I will only use cheats after ive completed the game 100%

You're assuming these "toys" will be available with cheats. As for stealing them, assuming they're rare cars, they could be so rare that finding them in-game could prove very difficult. One car I specifically made note of in trailer 2 is the James Bond looking classic Aston Martin. I doubt you'll see that thing on every street corner in the game. Maybe some of these "expensive toys" could be buy-only. That would certainly make them worth saving up for.

IMO, Cheaters are to gaming as criminals are to society.

 

To some, both 'ways of life' may seem appealing, but to others like myself, the very thought of cheating makes V seem more boring. Just imagine that fresh moment where you first start the game as Michael, fresh from the opening cutscene. You are oblivious to anything in the real world, as your mind is fully submerged into the game's environment. Then, your brother takes the controller and enters a cheat code that makes you invincible, every gun in the game with infinite ammo, military uniform, spawn hydra & cheetah, etc. You have so many nice things, that you have no motivation to play the game legit.

 

That's pretty much what I used to do when I was a kid. Now, I only use cheats once I beat the game. Sometimes not even then.

I hope the "expensive toys" Rockstar's talking about are not vehicles, though.

I can just jack them easily if they're too common. I can't even think of buying it in a dealership. It makes no sense when you can jack it as well.

I think cheats are limited just like in Red Dead Redemption; even though the game had a weapons cheats, it didn't necessarily gave you all the high-end weapons. Better weapons were actually required to be unlocked and bought. Which I think is really great.
