Coral_City
Properties were useless. You and every other dummy who liked them need to realize that. What did properties do? 1. Earn you more money to spend nothing on 2. Have save points you never saved in They're a waste unless they can generate useful things like weapons, guards, etc. Don't tell me you have never missed more parking slots for your cars in IV. Garages ate up cars. Parking slots ate up cars. Literally everything ate up cars.
lucid121
YESSSS! Rockstar returned property buying in gta v. http://www.gtav.net/ I guess the people who wanted this feature badly, won.
saintsrow
Congrats for convincing Rockstar to listen to their fans. As soon as I saw GTAV Trailer #1 and knew that it was a re-imagined LA, it was so obvious to me that properties and empire building would / should be part of the game. I was disappointed during that dark time when Rockstar seemingly had ruled them out. We won
DarkDayz
The best developers. I hope it is true that the fans is why they put in property. Missed working to a goal, it seems a waste to have a money theme and not be able to buy whatever you want. Glad they did it, it fits with the theme of the game totally. But I kinda see why they wouldn't do it, especially with Trevor as his aura, he isn't the type to buy a mansion, he's happy with a trailor... But I think like they said the way they can do it is by restricting different assets to each player, Franklin is more likely to buy a nightclub they said, so it all fits well. Glad they implemented it eventually.

I wasn't devastated when it wasn't in but now I see so many possibilities for them. The main one for me is the perks you'll get for owning them, with the most basic one being free taxi rides (like Roman's cabs) for owning a Cab company. Buy an Ammunation store & get access to better weapons at a cheaper price. Buy a helitours business & have helicopters delivered to you. Car Showroom gives you access to cars that can be delivered to you. Some businesses could be fronts for illegal activities. Buying some properties could open up new missions, dynamic events or allies to help in preparing for your heists. I really hope it's not just a building that just generates money but has no real world effects.

blakeney
Sure they do. The whole reason they are doing these heists is to make loads of money and buy sh*t they don't need, such as large houses and fast cars. R* does research on sh*t like this. You will never see a heist film where the character buys property while they're committing huge robberies. If you know of one, please let me know. And you can say "it's a game" and I'll say "R* wants their game to make sense". You're right, thats why properties is in

Ulysses182
I don't know if anyone mentioned this before, but IMO it would be cool if you could rent one or more apartments on various locations throughout the map to serve as a safe house... You would rent them whenever you want and whenever you need one at that location. Later when most of your objectives move to another location, you leave your old apartment (or keep it) and rent another one on the new location. You can even see posters saying something about rent in many scenes. One here, for example:
RedDragonsBOOM
Ya know, I figured something had to have been off in the original report of there being no properties. A f*cking Five dollar bill V is on the box of a game based in a fictional Los Angeles. Los Angeles is all about million dollar real estate! Habs
I think they changed their mind like in November with the Game Informer preview... I mean, OP is not the 1st who was crying about the properties, there was 2500 topics about this. They did not change the release date for nothing, they did it because they listened to us a few months ago, not 2 weeks come on... This is R*, not EA.
