No properties...COME ON ROCKSTAR

Properties were probably one of the best features in gta and something I can waste my money on.Why doesn't rockstar bring it back. They did it on vc,vcs and sa.What's the problem with adding one simple feature.Oh well,I hope they come up features that involve spending LOTS of money.

Properties were useless. You and every other dummy who liked them need to realize that.

What did properties do?

1. Earn you more money to spend nothing on

2. Have save points you never saved in

They're a waste unless they can generate useful things like weapons, guards, etc.

They will, I'm sure they even said so somewhere. Don't worry, there will be plenty of things to waste money on in this game.

It's nice to be able to walk around a huge mansion and think 'this is mine', I know we already have a mansion in V but we wont have worked for it.

Clothes are also useless. Whats your point.

I think you are using properties from SA as a reference, when obviously if property purchases were present in V it would be more useful.

Having places to store vehicles and save your game throughout the map is very usefull and gives you a reason to spend money. Just because you dont feel its necessary doesnt make the rest of us "dummies"

grandthefthoughto

for my 2 cents...

property purchasing ranks right up there with car/weapon customisation as a feature i do not care about at all (and unless you are really into your cars/weapons or enjoy roleplaying in gta) i don't really understand why anyone would care much about them returning/appearing either.

I Would Rather have only some houses with many features in it, then Hundrets of Houses with the only ability to walk in them and save your game. Even if they are big and look beautiful, the only thing you can do is walking and saving your game. You spend your ingame money in something, which doesn't moves you forward in the Game

f*ck off and play age of empires

Hey, don't be like that! I will not miss this feature, but it was still fun to be able to buy houses... How can someone be against it? Even if it's not necessary, it's still a nice feature!

Sure it doesn't give you anything in the gameplay, but I think it's fun to be able to spend the money in almost everything... There are a lot of things that are useless in a video game, but they can still be fun.

Welcome to the forums. People dont understand that not everone has the same taste, and that some people actually have fun with "useless" features

Property is useful. Rockstar never mentioned you wouldn't gain properties. Buying them, though, doesn't seems to be an option. Perhaps the money earning is a bit more realistic in V, and check out property prices in LA, it's insane. Buying multiple properties (with garage) can easily cost you a couple million. Perhaps they feel that property is too expensive to buy, and you can therefore gain it by missions. I don't know really.. Not buying them is not in issue for me, not having them would be annoying, though.

I hope instead there are several furniture stores we can go to and buy upgraded furniture e.g. a new luxury kitchen or bathroom. I would love to be able to customize our safehouses so they really feel like ours.

What is the problem? Sure people have different tastes, but is it a fault to talk about them?

This.

I like properties, but when you really think about it, they're useless. They make no sense in a crime game about heists anyways. People need to learn how to get over things. Why dwell on the stuff R* chose to leave out? They add in things that fit and leave out things that don't.

They're not trying to make your perfect game. Just let them make the game they wanna make, because that's why we became fans in the first place.

Didnt we all already have are nervous breakdowns about this when the G.I article came out?

EDIT: I do hope we get something like that big abandoned plane grave yard from SA though, so we can store planes and other cool sh*t.

BUT THE BENZ

Properties were probably one of the best features in gta and something I can waste my money on.Why doesn't rockstar bring it back.

Because a) R* made an ethical choice to no longer have the protag be the KING of the whole city where you own every corner. And b) if you owned all those buildings they ought to be accessible shouldn't they? Give you options to change clothes maybe, or switch cars in a garage etc. Unless you bought the property the interior and parking space wouldn't be available. Say there were 100 properties to buy and they alle required some back up space (for graphics, ingame-functions, textures, code and stuff) and players would only go get 50 of those. 50 properties "code" wasted.

Does that sound plausible? Because all those properties would have to be detailed to the core (that's R* trademark) and take quite some space? Because all that was hidden until the player tapped into it it would be a time consuming feauture that might not be fully explored by many players, and in the end it's for something they're not even aiming for in terms of ethics to their story and content ...or something..

Properties isn't a big feature. I don't know why people seem to be upset over this, some people found it interesting and useful whereas some people found it useless and boring. There is going to be more features to cover it up, so don't worry.

Sure they do. The whole reason they are doing these heists is to make loads of money and buy sh*t they don't need, such as large houses and fast cars.

I liked them and I am not no dummy. Stupid idiots like you need to live with the fact that other people's tastes are different to yours.

So what the f**k do you expect us to spend all that money on ? All those heists to make large money and to just be able to spend it only on food, clothes and weapons again ?

Come on Einstein, enlighten us.

Properties are not the only possibility for spending money on something in the game. There are many more things, other than buying vehicles, weapons and properties. The possibilities are unlimited because you could simulate a whole economic in a videogame!

Well I'd really like to see how that will work without properties. Not saying it can't work, but I'd sure love to see how.

But it doesn't add anything. Why would you need a place to save the game when you have 3 protags all in different places? Rockstar says the economy in V is great so I'll trust them. Properties aren't needed at all. And like the guy above me, motels will make up for this.

Have properties definitely been ruled out by Rockstar? Have we had confirmation from them that they will NOT appear in the game?

There should be motels scattered throughout the map where we can save and store our vehicle temporarily much like in RDR.
