Step 2. you delete the 0 because 0 is nothing. Step 3. you now have a 2 and a 4. What you now have: 9.17.24 Step 4. now focus only on the 9 and the 17, because we already did something with 24. Step 5. 9 minus the 7 from 17, 9-7=2. Step 6. now you only have a 10 left. you divide that 10 by the 2 from step 5, 10÷2=5 or 10:2=5. Step 7. we now have a 24 and a 5. 24.5 ..... coincidence...?
