Everything you said is true, anyway I guess I am one of the doubters you are referring to. That's just because I got a huge disappointment with R*'s IV. They promised so much being in the game, unlimited fun, more and better than SA. It was nothing like that at all. Not even comparable with former titles.

It was just boring for me after I completed the story line.

Now R* is saying the same like they did in the past, so that's probably why there are so many doubters. The screens are showing us a very small city, although lots of people expected a sprawling city like LA is with miles over miles of a city (not only one times LC, but two or three times LC). Lots of people expected driving a long time on they highway through the city like in real, but LS is looking like a hicksville in the latest screens.

I hope you are right, because if so I have no doubt it will be a great game.

We all know this. What was the point of this topic?

To tell all doubters and San andreas fan boys

Tell'em! lol.gif

Actually all San Andreas fangirls seem to ignore this.

Acknowledging that San Andreas was BY FAR the largest open world game Rockstar had created up till now, has nothing to do with being a "fangirl". It's a FACT.

Oh, we got one.

It has absolutely everything to do with it. OP is right. People who love San Andreas still think it was a huge map. It wasn't. You only think so because it's divided in these areas, Santos, Fierro, Venturas, desert and landscape.

But drive or fly around, it is small.

What WAS Rockstars largest open world map then?

Just travel in GTA IV from the lowest point in Broker to the highest in Alderney, it isn't smaller, count the time. Or take RDR.

Biggest map my ass.

Rockstar themselves have acknowledged that San Andreas is larger than both GTAIV and RDR. RDR seemed large because of riding horseback. Your argument is completely ignorant of FACTS.

Not true. Just because you type the word F A C T S in big letters doesn't make it a fact.

San Andreas is small. Accept that FACT.

Is that why you haven't answered which is Rockstars biggest map? You don't know what you are talking about. I suppose you know more than Rockstar does too.

Please tell me when R* said this about IV (or anything like it for that matter).

It's you who says Rockstar said this and that. Like SA was the biggest map. It wasn't.

So which WAS? Is that such a difficult question for you? You keep saying it wasn't, so i'm asking you which was.

What about you all shut the f*ck up? Damn, it's pretty obvious that San Andreas was the biggest map ever made until now since there are some people here that has taken the time to calculate it. There is nothing more to say. San Andreas was the biggest map but the cities were small simple as that.

Edit: When I said all, I meant all the people arguing. Just so there's no confusion...

What is clinically wrong with you, if you've ever actually played JC2 then you'll know that the island you're comparing SA to is f*cking tiny, it takes like 5 minutes to walk across. SA is nowhere near that small, so stop making retarded assumptions and do some research before you post.

What is clinically wrong with YOU?

JC2's map took almost 15 minutes to cross FLYING, let alone walking.

What are you smoking, he was talking about that tiny island which, according to that guy is the size of SA.

Hell, it even takes 2 minutes to walk across. That island is the size of North San Fierro.

You don't get it, kid. Let's get down with your logic, San Andreas was the biggest open world game by Rockstar you say. So I travel from Santos' Binco to another Binco in Venturas.

San Andreas appears huge, for one, because of the separation in Santos, Fierro, Venturas, deserts, landscape.

But if you actually travel ingame, you find yourself entering the very next city, when in IV's LC and certainly V' Santos you are still in the same city.

San Andreas is more illusion than reality, it lacks opportunities. And this is what makes an open world game big. the map could even be small. But packed with options, it will be huge.

However GTA V's map will be both, huge and packed with things we can spend money on, random events, side stories...

San Andreas was small. In terms of variety. And also in terms of the map.

Let's take the single cities, Fierro, Los Santos and Venturas...they're all smaller than GTA IV's LC. Even combined.
