I don't see how you can get an accurate estimation. Seeing as there are many different places where people can view the trailer.

YouTube is by far the most viewed site for video sharing though.

But it is hard to get an exact number of views on big YT videos because of the count system confused.gif

BUT THE BENZ

I don't know about figures and which trailer for V has more views....but generally R* is the creme de la creme when it comes to trailers. In my opinion they're the best at making gametrailers, hands down! Look at those for Max Payne 3 below for a few minutes. Watch them in HD and all that noise. While watching think of the cuts, the way the images and musical patterns fit very nicely. The strong immersion that occures for those 2 minutes or something. It's crazy good!

I love this one. Just that one little scene of max moving and shooting at 0:40 or so is extremely awesome...it's just max at the docks running forward firing 2 bullets with a pistol in his hand, gritty teeth. the animation is incredibly realistic and with the rain and all, that lighting, it's just 2 seconds of epicness but it's gretaly done. One could also say the images imply Max is shifting gears as he moves forward and hunts down the kidnappers. It tells you something about the drive for the plot. Well done.

It's better than many many movie trailers. Something R* is very very good at is the editing, the pace, the cuts and audio of their trailers. Max kicks a guy in the face just when the snare is hitting so it's like POW, intense. Perfect filling-lines, even if it's just a short GOD-DAAAMMIT. Really impressive work if you ask me.

this one is pretty cool aswell.

"Max (f*cking) Payne...How you're doing man?!"

- "Doing about as good as I look"

One of those little subliminal messages R* puts in trailers skillfully. As in their ingame-dialogues. And it's awesome.

Max Payne 2 was some time ago but R* put him back in the game and he looks pretty good if you ask me. Next cut shows "Rockstar Games Presents" on the screen as in they bring back Max Payne after a long time and and it does look better than ever. Max Payne 3's graphics were/are top notch. The motion capturing and animations are very well done. It was a great choice of dialogue and scene to begin the trailer with.

The 2nd trailer for GTA V was just as amazing and nothing short of excellence. When the snare kicks in and the trains collide and stevie wonder is saying ...*POP* ...genius. Those Max Payne 3 trailers though are the best work I have seen R* do in terms of gametrailers. Really cinematic sh*t, and that's very awesome. Can't wait to watch all those cutscenes V is gonna have. I hope it's like 100 hours in total ;D

Yeah, that means YouTube probably is the best gauge of the true amount of total views.

I know that a lot of non gamers know the name of COD, even if they don't know what it's about. However CoD only became a cultural & sales phenomenon after COD 4: Modern Warfare released. GTA has been BIG since GTA III & even made the mainstream news (due to its controversial theme) back in 97, when the very first game was released. Plus, a full blown GTA sequel is almost as rare as rocking horse sh*t & a COD sequel is as common as real muck. Therefore, a new GTA should stir more interest in non gamers.

@Noclue_42

I have that trailer downloaded on my phone & it's probably one of their best this gen. It's got a real Michael Mann vibe & the music is just incredible (is it a variation on the main theme 'Tears'?).

That is a f*cking awesome trailer. icon14.gif

This was always my favourite though. The best trailer for any game/movie in history for me. No other way to describe it other than f*cking epic!

And what a game it was too.
