ThunderSt0rm
I am way more hyped than i was for IV. This game will have a bigger map than IV but i will miss the city life.
Isuck100%
But I am a little worried of my Xbox not being able to handle it. That sh*t might explode... Very possible^ I hear my xbox playing MP3 and I legit think it's gonna go boom. That's why you install the game to your hard drive. Silence! No disc spinning. And that's the beauty of owning consoles over PC. You know for certain the game is going to work and is being optimized perfectly for your platform. Well, unless you're a PS3 player with all the lazy PS3 ports this gen. As for hype, I remember being far more hyped for GTA IV in the months leading up to release. But that was the first GTA hitting next gen consoles and we had no idea how the game was going to look in motion. Also, there was a lot more marketing leading up to release. Once the GTA V marketing really takes off and we are getting a steady stream of new content each week, my hype might reach IV levels, but I still believe IV was more exciting simply for being the first next-gen GTA. At least IV lived up to the hype for me, and is still my favorite game of this generation and in the entire series. Then again, Rockstar has never let me down. AtomicPunk
I've anticipated every GTA after GTA 1. I was hyped about Vice City, then San An really got me. I combed through the screens and the interactive website. I was addicted. When I finally got my hands on San An, it was heaven on earth. I looked all the time for info on IV for a long time, but nothing. Then R* went full force with it. I was hyped about it, but for some reason, I just didn't think that it looked very good. When I finally got my hands on it, I was like: "where's the features?" I was disappointed. I liked Niko/the story and some of the other characters, but it just didn't get it for me. About 6 months after IV, I was looking early for V rumors or leaks. I was ready to move on, but it was a lost cause. Then, after V's announcement, R* spammed us with Max Gayne around the clock. That's NOT at all what I was craving at the moment. After all the lies, inaccurate time frames, year of silence, then, the delay,--It ruined it this time around. For the first time I felt anger towards R* and noticed that many other core fans felt the same way. "What has happened", -I thought. It's just been one let down after another with V. R* says no properties! What the hell have they been doing all this time? What else has been left on the cutting room floor? My hype for V has been a roller coaster that has gradually went down hill. Trailer #2 brought it up again, but it crashed to the ground soon after. I just want the game so I can turn the page and leave this anticipational nightmare behind in the anals of history. It's been a sh*tty go-round this time. Thanks R*.
BUT THE BENZ
Didn't care for IV until last year, totally looking forward to V though. Max Payne 3 made me fall in love with R* again. Can't wait to play their next game.

Hvitdverg
Was more excited about GTA IV, since it was the first next-gen GTA. At this point, I don't feel the same excitement but I know I will be more satisfied with everything GTA V will offer I CAN't WAIT ! You definitely don't have a nose or eyes. The only reason they done that was because MP3's sales weren't doing as expected in R*'s favour so they needed to gain more sales to benefit the shareholders and themselves. You do know what Shareholders are right? Guess not. Besides, they wanted a good time to announce it, it's not like they give two f*cks about losers like you who hate on them for nothing. Ibrahimhassounah
Yep, but its probably because i didnt much keep up with the release of GTA IV. Yes! This is the exact same reason why I'm more anticipated for GTA V I didn't realise GTA IV was coming out until 2 months before its release!!! Whereas with GTA V I have been hyped for the past 6 months! i "was" hyped for a hall year !!!!!!!!!!!!! , but my hype is drowning for now
Numero Siete
never waited for a GTA before... never knew about GTA 4 or San Andreas, just got them when they come out, no hype or nothing. Did not like GTA 4 at all.
Durden
I started following gaming news 1-2 years ago, so no. When IV released I would consider myself to be a very casual gamer, even though I played for hours upon hours at a time. And now I think of myself as a pretty hardcore gamer, even though I don't play that much. I guess the definition is up to the person. But anyways if it isn't obvious already, yes I am way more excited about V than IV. I was still a fan of GTA back then, but I got the game months after it came out and I ruined the new experience by watching gameplay videos before I got it. But now, with V, I was there for every single piece of V info that we have ever recieved. Every screenshot, both trailers, every preview, every leak, and even some fan made stuff. I have never been this hyped for anything.

Druffmaul
Yes, I'm definitely more excited for V than I was for IV. Why? Because I liked IV a lot more than San Andreas. How I felt about the last game in the series has a lot to do with how hyped I get for the next one. Didn't care about GTA 1 or 2 = no hype for III Loved the sh*t out of III = major hype for VC Loved the sh*t out of VC = major hype for SA Liked SA, but not as much as the others = lower hype for IV Loved the sh*t out of IV = major hype for V Edited April 18, 2013 by Druffmaul
Revolution-XW
I wasn't quite as involved with the wait for IV, but I'd say I've overall been more excited for this one. IV was an interesting thing because it was the first 'next-gen' (at the time) GTA and I was really excited about the possibilities for that. The graphics, the gameplay, the atmosphere, I really liked it all. I liked the dark tone of the first trailer, and the promise of a highly detailed, immersive world. This. I wasn't aware of IV, but I'm more hyped for V, way more.
GoldenBlade
I didn't keep up with any previous GTA releases at all. When GTA IV was released, I was only 9 years old. I know that I'm pretty hyped about GTA V's release, though.

Official General
Honestly speaking ? I was more hyped up for GTA IV and that is the truth for a number of reasons. * The main reason for me buying 60gb PS3 in back in 2007 was primarily to play GTA IV. * Liberty City in GTA IV was being made as a very realistic re-creation of my most favorite GTA location - New York City. * GTA IV was the first GTA this current console generation, so I was anticipating how it would look in newer, advanced HD graphics. * The first GTA IV trailer drew me in and captivated me more than the GTA V trailer. Just seeing the Manhattan-style Liberty City skyline, Star Junction, the Broker Bridge and Statue of Happiness drove me wild with excitement, and Niko being presented as a European immigrant to America took me by major surprise. I viewed the first IV trailer so many times, much more that I did with the first V trailer. * The information flow for GTA IV was very constant and solid, and it just built continuous momentum for my hype levels. For GTA V, Rockstar have been so inconsistent with their information flow, their marketing tactics have been so long and drawn-out and an extra very long delay has very much lowered and calmed down my hype levels for GTA V. SeaFoam
I remember how excited I was when I was a 12 year old kid for GTA III. There was nothing else like it. I remember obsessively looking at the 3D map on the official website on my crappy dial-up, printing out pictures, info, etc. I got it that Christmas and it was truly mind-blowing. I felt that same excitement with Vice City and even more with San Andreas. But GTA IV was different. I definitely wanted it, but I didn't actively follow the news and what not. It's not that I didn't care, I just didn't feel the same excitement as I did with the others when I was a kid/teenager or I just had more important things going on at the time, maybe a mixture of both. But it was a definitely a great game and one of my favorites. With GTA V, I feel that same excitement as I did with San Andreas. I view these threads damn near every weekday on my lunch break just for any tidbit of new info. It's pretty neat feeling that same excitement for a video game as I did when I was a kid. Gazabaza21
I think im equally hyped as i was for gta IV because gta was making the leap to the next generation with IV but although this is not next gen theres a heap load more content as in cars, weapons, map scale plus its gonna feel a whole lot better with new physics and car handling and shooting so it will probly feel like a next gen game anyway

GoldenBlade
maybe cause i so badly wanted the game, but i just couldnt afford a PS3.... This is exactly the reason why I didn't get GTA IV sooner. RichyB
I recall being excited for IV, I remember being amazed at the graphics difference between San Andreas and IV, of course the difference between IV and V isn't that big. I can't remember searching so much for GTA IV info though.
