Are you more excited about V than you were about IV?

Or you are not because you know your system cannot run it!

Or you are not because you wont be getting it for some reason! (you are below the age required to play GTA) devil.gif

Are you OR Are you not? sly.gif

You could put that very simple sarcasm.gif .

I remember waiting for Vice & San Andreas but I don't remember about GTA IV that's kinda weird... More hyped for V, no doubt.

I was quite young which surprises me looking back at how much I anticipated GTA IV but I'd say I'm even more hyped than I was for IV.

Of coarse!!! Just as I was more excited about IV than I was for SA! And I was more excited about SA than VC!! And the same with VC.... and III... and 2...

And I will be more excited about the next gta than I am now with V..

Pump action shoggy

never waited for a GTA before... never knew about GTA 4 or San Andreas, just got them when they come out, no hype or nothing.

Did not like GTA 4 at all.

I wasn't quite as involved with the wait for IV, but I'd say I've overall been more excited for this one. IV was an interesting thing because it was the first 'next-gen' (at the time) GTA and I was really excited about the possibilities for that. The graphics, the gameplay, the atmosphere, I really liked it all. I liked the dark tone of the first trailer, and the promise of a highly detailed, immersive world.

That said, I had some hang-ups from early on, particularly in the areas that we soon learned were a step back from SA, such as the map size and lack of countryside. This bothered me a lot, much more then so than it does now. I was definitely still excited for it, but again, there were hang-ups. There were things I knew I wasn't gonna like from the very beginning. Now I'm used to it, GTA IV's features, story, and world are what they are, and I have a lot of respect for the areas in which it really improved the formula.

But here now I have V, which promises to bring all these things back. Huge vehicle and weapon variety, return of planes and jets, a huge, beautiful looking map of large diversity, combined with all the improvements that IV made in shooting mechanics, physics, graphics and driving mechanics, at least to a certain extent, all improved even further. So now I have hardly any hang-ups, and my excitement for the game is less inhibited. I've also been involved in the wait for this game more closely. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a good thing, though: it's made the wait much harder than last time.

I can't remember being hyped for GTA IV, probably because I was 12. I'm 17 now, and the hype is f*ckING AWESOME inlove.gifbiggrin.gif

Me too i didn't involve myself when GTA 4 about to be released,

but still when i first saw the screenshot of GTA 4 i was amazed how that much detail can be put in a game and felt impossible... now it may not.. but during that time when

we never seen such a visual i was more hyped than anything....

But now GTA V after this long wait, then delay, not having a huge jump from GTA 4 to 5 in graphics... i am not feeling like i am hyped as much as GTA 4..

Still i love GTA V.. i just want to be hyped as GTA 4. but its ok...

GTA 4 have influenced everyone to look forward to GTA V..

GTA V does not have its own magic coz we already seen it in GTA 4....

and that magic is what we are again waiting for when its fully released....

Hell yea.. I wasnt waiting for GTA IV because I didnt have xbox/ps3 at the time so there was no point in waiting or being excited for it. All I knew about the game was what I had read in the previews (i remember reading IGN).

I think the last time I was this excited for a GTA game it was San Andreas.

Grand Theft Savage

I'm more excited about GTA V more than I have been for any other game... Ever...

But I am a little worried of my Xbox not being able to handle it. That sh*t might explode...

straightandfast

I was excited for IV back in 2008 but no where near as I am for V. I didn't follow anything of IV before it's release. I saw adverts for it and that's when I first heard of it. Didn't pay much attention.

I started looking for news on V back around 2009/2010 after the DLC for IV was out. Nothing happened until October '11 and since then I've followed every last bit of information about the game.

Excitement for IV on release day: 4.5/10. For V as of today: 8/10. In the next couple months it'll be 9/10 then around July/August it'll be 10/10 and on 17th September it'll be 100/10.

I didn't realise GTA IV was coming out until 2 months before its release!!! Whereas with GTA V I have been hyped for the past 6 months!

I was initially excited for GTA IV but as time went by and certain info came out, my excitement started to wane.

Several features were confirmed to not be present in IV. It was also confirmed that the map would be smaller than SA, no underwater exploration, no relevant economy, no buying properties, little character customization... All that brought my excitement down.

This time around, from the info we have, V looks and feels much better. It's all about fredom of movement. And the sunny setting, taking advantage of improved lightning, is a lot more pleasant on the eyes.

I did not wait for GTA IV because I did not know that the game exists

Only I knew the day he was released because of the massive publicity

Same for GTA san andreas

I expected to GTA Vice City almost like I expect to GTA V

Nameless Foot Soldier

I got GTA IV in 2009... Before then, I only had my PS2 and my Gamecube. IV was the first game I got on my Xbox, then it was Halo 3. Good memories, back before life got real.

I was more excited for Iv, but that was only because it was a huge leap from the III era. Both graphics and engine improved. Also the news flowed in much better.

For those of you who werent around for the pre IV release hype, it was very fun. deepthroat is actually what made me sign up because I just had to get involved in the conversation.

But nothing compares to V's hype. The info drought was a great marketing strategy. Analyzing 1 trailer for 9 months. Scouring Max Payne 3 code for a vehicle list. Looking up cv's of R* developers. The kifflom twitter.

All that combined with the fact that im certain V is going to be the game I hoped IV would be, and nothing compares.
