sonkanjin
Hello guys... My FIRST post here. Didn't want to make something all simple and fitting. I know i might get some sh*t for this, but those decent enough to actually read and appreciate this idea even if you do slate it, thank you. Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Rises would be a perfect demo, template or idea board for GTA V. I will explain 2 things and why it will be the best choice out of any movie, book or game if Rockstar had to base ideas from. THIS THREAD HAS SPOILERS FOR THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE MOVIE DO NOT READ ON AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Music. Grand Theft Auto Five is said to have its own score. The first time in any GTA game. Now my first point. - Watch this video from The Dark Knight Rises. The music makes the scene spine chilling. Not because it has a good score, but the composer obviously wanted to match the intensity of the scene and make a equally intense score without spoiling it and making the score seem over the top. Example 1 SKIP TO 2:00 - Point 2 is the most important. Hans Zimmer (Who compose and wrote ALL the music in the Dark Knight Rises) also wrote the THEME FOR GRAND THEFT AUTO FOUR This is probably the best reason to chose him to do GTAVs score out of any one else on the planet. Summary : They should not use this music from the Dark Knight Rises but they should give us the same feel. Just imagine if you are in free roam and you do something so dramatic all the players online see it, and then this score comes on (with original score option enabled of course ) Destruction. REFER BACK TO THE VIDEO! People say buildings should be able to be destroyed in V, some even say EVERYTHING should be destroyed. This idea is wrong. SOME things should be destructible to cause more chaos, to change the game or just to make things harder for other people. From the video we saw... Small buildings be destroyed, these are just small houses and shops and not huge buildings. Rather the few huge buildings be destroyed it would be far better for smaller structures to be destroyed causing more chaos. A normal street could be shut down due to the shop on the end of the road blown away, causing bad fire, smoke and chaos, also first responses such as police, firefighters and ambulances rushing there. This is not putting any strain on the current gen consoles, and if this game was ever to come out on PS4 or Xbox3 and the P.C. it would be child's play. Small buildings were destructible in "State of emergency" on the ps2 over 10 years ago. Bridges could also be destroyed. This would isolate the city or at least make it harder for people to get around, and it would be the ultimate game changer. The console would only have to load up the collapsing data for the bridge, once it hits the water it could disappear. Anyone sad enough to swim under the water just to see if the bridge parts and complain if they are not there and say "its not real enough" need to go and play another game. Big structures such as the football pitch was only part destroyed and not totally blown away. This could apply to structures in GTAV. Maybe blowing the ground away of the forum in Los Santos or only blowing away chunks of a building rather than actual huge peaces, just enough to leave a long trail of smoke going into the sky. NUCLEAR DETONATION! Yes i said it, it could be possible in GTA V. People think to have this should blow the city away. In the end of the Dark Knight Rises the nuke goes off miles from the city killing no one at all. So what is the point you ask while closing the porn tab in your browser...Well GTA is going to have a army base. Its confirmed..so if there is a army, there will be based in sea as well. So far out into the sea miles from the main land could be a nuclear submarine (as submarines are now confirmed) and could hold nuclear power. A simple red button with a count down of 10 minutes could be perfect for GTA V but have no damage to the main land in terms of buildings. From the main land you would see a HUGE flash then a loud boom a few seconds later, but it would knock radio towers power off causing havoc. Radio stations would be off air and dodgy creepy pirate and alternate stations would come on air. On the HUD there would be no more wanted stars, just question marks as radio towers are down, police cant track. So what do you guys think. Am i just going over the top. Don't just give a hate comment, at least back your answer up, just be honest.

What are you on, OP? Hans Zimmer didn't have anything to do with IV's score. Summary : They should not use this music from the Dark Knight Rises but they should give us the same feel. Just imagine if you are in free roam and you do something so dramatic all the players online see it, and then this score comes on (with original score option enabled of course ) I really, really loved his work on the Dark Knight Trilogy, as well as James Newton Howard (it's a shame he wasn't involved in Rises, it lacked a bit of the emotional core the first two films' scores had). But I don't think that kind of feel works for GTA. It's too bombastic and dramatic, and more fit for the operatic sort of journey that the Batman movies (or really any superhero movie) had, rather than a crime-themed action movie. AuSsIeThUnDeR36
Stopped reading after 'Nuclear Detonation' That would make gta v a terrorist simulator. No it won't be possible in gta v. It would become a national disgrace and would be a banned game. Congress would disallow the sale of the game based on it's 'terrorist simulation of the destruction of an American city. Fuzzknuckles
Why would you want to blow up the entire city? What would be the point? Would it be permanent, or would it just respawn the entire city after you eventually get busted/wasted? No. NO NO NO. Also this: That film sucked. Signatures are dumb anyway. LotusRIP
You think Hans Zimmer writes all the music himself? Pfft yeah right... him and his team of 50 employees. As mentioned, he didn't write the music for GTA4 either. "He" did write the music for The Lion King though! When I studied film music, my teachers said he came out for some conference, and there were girls in the class that went along and he pointed them out and whispered "Why are they here?". Apparently he's a massive sexist jerk.
