Amusement pier seems to be important

Judging by the numerous times the amusement pier has been shown in screenshots and artwork, I believe it will play a major role throughout the game. Hopefully it will be a working amusement park that's full of life. This was one of the few disappointments I had with GTAIV, that place was DEAD.

I wouldn't read much into it. It's a good iconic landmark.

 

But yeah, it shouldn't be static like GTA IV's. GTA IV's was abandoned so that made sense, this pier is very much in action.

I'm not sure. I mean I really don't know why that pier gets so many attention in reallife? Probably only tourists. IIRC it has a roller coaster and a not so big ferris wheel. What else is there in reallife? (not trying to sound smart, I'm actually asking what are the things to do there?). Story-wise, with all the heists and stuff, I don't really see how it would play a big role.

 

My guess is that they all seem to love the location, because they can show off their new things. It reminds of LA, it shows the water activity, the sky, the boulevard, the drawing distance with downtown in the background. It's an excellent area to show what the game has to offer.

I hope for a Bully type peir. Unlockable clothing would be nice. Maybe a couple dynamic missions.

I think it'll be open, unlike IV's but I absolutely dont think it will play a large roll.

I agree, it's an LA landmark, like the Venice Beach Ocean Walk, Vinewood sign and the Griffith Observatory, and since Rockstar has made a habit of showing these landmarks in multiple screenshots, it's hard to think that they mean that the pier is more special than anywhere else.

 

I am hoping that the rides are live however, for the reason Knife stated. And it would interesting if a live arcade is included.

No, just no. The amusement park won't be active in the game. Please don't get your hopes up. I know this from experience, I can tell in my old age what to hype and what not to hype. If it doesn't come out of Rockstar's mouth directly don't assume it to be there and even if Rockstar says something will be in the game they might change their mind and take it out.

Hopefully we can ride the rides in gta5! Would be pretty cool!! I hoped for the same thing with GTA4, but ... yeah!

I think, it's enough if the park is humming with people all the time, and kids riding rides just like in real life, rather than giving an option for the player to ride them.

 

Would be pretty disappointing if they are gonna be static just like IV.
