Mister Pink
Lately I've seen snippets of rumours circulating that Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc might be working again on the same show. Just now I've read an article that confirms this and all cast back for a Friends comeback season. Good news for all you “Friends” fans out there… NBC just confirmed it is indeed happening according to Star Media. Not only are they having a reunion but they are reportedly having a full comeback season. The new season of “Friends” is set to launch in 2014 yet it is still unknown whether all of the original actors will be returning to reprise the roles that made them all famous. How great would it be to see Rachel, Monica, Joey, Phoebe, Chandler and Ross all back together again? We hope it happens. http://elitedaily.com/elite/2013/nbc-confi...omeback-season/ I grew up with Friends and do have a soft spot for it. I was 9 in 1994 when it first originally aired. Ross is probably my favourite and there has been some classic jokes that came out of Friends that find themselves in popular culture, just like a classic Simpsons joke that nearly everyone knows. The Scottish Guy
I actually quite liked this show. Just like you Floyd, I was also 9 when Friends first debuted back in '94, so I grew up with it too. Sure, it has quite a feminine vibe to it, but unlike most so called sitcoms - see above - Friends was actually funny. Chandler and Joey were my favourites. Loved those guys! Thanks The Scottish Guy: Yeah man, I don't know if I'd start watching Friends as an adult but the humour was fine for a kid growing up at least RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)

El Dildo
but it's not the best TV show in history. not by a longshot. not even close. it's cheesy. cheap. canned laughter. bad jokes. average characters. Friends is just the definition of bland. it's white-boy comedy made for classic white-boys.

Clem Fandango
To be honest the nauseatingly twee feel that the first two seasons had was the height of pretension; total sh*te. The latter seasons though became genuinely funny when it was just a non-depressing Seinfeld.

Kippers
canned laughter. I don't care for the rest of your opinion but if you think for 1 second that Friends wasn't filmed in front of a live audience then you don't know the difference. The spontaneous reactions from the audience in a tense or uber-romantic scene, or when a joke becomes clearly improvised by the cast and the hyper-intense laughter coming from the audience, actually causes the actors to nearly lose their composure for a split second...Or the unnaturally long pauses they have to take occasionally when a joke makes the audience laugh for a long time..Or when you have a few stragglers who are still chuckling away after everyone else has finished laughing. Those moments don't happen with shows that have canned laughter. The 'emotion' from the 'audience' is never so genuinely felt, and everyone mysteriously starts and stops laughing at the same time. I don't care for the rest of your opinion but if you think for 1 second that Friends wasn't filmed in front of a live audience then you don't know the difference. meh. doesn't change my opinion. canned laughter (as a phrase) also refers to sitcom timing. the delivery of the punchline is set up for the actors and for the audience. they (the actors) just have to hit their cue and the audience understands when the joke has been made and when it's ok to laugh. it doesn't change the fact that I found Friends (as a comedy) to be extremely bland and boring.
