Deffpony
Yea, of course after the first month it wont be as amazing as the first week. But thats with anything. The thing that makes GTA so great is its timelessness. I still pick up GTA IV and just start messing around, wasting hours of time. You show me a 5 year old game that you still do that with. Dont forget that V is going to have the most advanced multiplayer the series has ever seen. Im not worried because GTA's are all timeless
CaptainCapri
It doesnt look like your able to string more than 2 lines together mate from your posting history. Just keep quiet. Is this not an open forum? Therefore I can post as and when I like... I am still waiting for you to give a valid point as to why you have wasted your time creating this pointless graph? Nobody understands your graph or your mentality for bothering to make it and all I am trying to do is understand your logic behind any of it. From what I can gather you have made this graph to show that your hype levels from release to X amount months down the line decreases, is this correct? Because if this is really the only point you are trying to get across then I really don't see why you bothered doing it, we all realise that your hype levels are not the same throughout the entirety of the game, you didnt need to scribble a couple of lines down to show this. Did you look into your crystal ball to foresee the future? How do you know everyone will complete the game in a month?
98 in 1
I find it hilarious that most don't understand the graph. It's simple. What it says is that the first few times you play the game, your hype level will be at the highest it will ever be when you play it. It will gradually decrease over time until you discover some facet of the game that you didn't know about before, delve into multiplayer, or start creating/installing mods. These things will raise your hype, but it will not return to the level that it was previously. In other words, your hype will rise and fall, but every time it rises, it will be lower than the last time it rose.
Miss Darko
Well it's the way it works with everything. Most experiences are much shorter than the periods spent looking forward to them. Movies are usually less than 3 hours long, but you can be 'hyped' for them for months. Games last much longer, but of course peak near the beginning of playing them, simply due to the novelty. However I think I may have the most fun in the game as I discover more features even weeks after purchasing it, even if I'm not longer as 'hyped'. As someone said before, hype isn't necessarily directly related to enjoyment. Although I'm not sure what the purpose of this is. Most of us are aware how excitement works, the build up from excitement to release to satisfaction is the same across the board from the movie experience, to gaming, drug-induced highs, and sexual pleasure. The only point I can glean from this is "the wait won't be worth it".
GKP
It shows the lifespan of your relationship with a game - how there are peaks and troughs and it aint as simple as booOORed wit teH game hur hur. OK ? Effectively , yes Darko - the wait wasnt and never has been worth it for GTA games. Great on day 1, quickly becomes just another game . Thats all I mean. GKP
I have played them since 97. Yeah for me , GTAs at least SO FAR have failed after the first weeks or so...the faults, the hangups...poor framerate and repetitive mission structure is all your left with. MP is good yes, but IV was a blip rather than a peak for me.
Kiffster
I still play IV, SA, VC, III and will still be playing and enjoying GTA V even when GTEight ( ) is released!!!

123-bob
I still Play GTA IV and RDR because there great games, and i have no doubt that GTA V will entertain me for at least 2 years, theres not many games that can offer you 2 years worth of entertainment

GKP
Not at the time of playing , but looking back - I was to much of an apologist for the series. V DOES have a lot of the things that I can really see myself enjoying for ages. Euphoria plus driving cars of mountains will keep me entertained for many an hour. rare.steak
Well as I said. Its all about those first few hours. Lol roel no..its my interpretation. I also am killing time at work. Quit wasting your life away and quit that job. This excuse of a graph is retarded. Your job's only been eating away at the sparse remainder of your brain cells. rare.steak
Sure, recruiting people for a company isn't HR. It must be something so different and a lot more exciting and fulfilling then.

straightandfast
I'll have the game finished by 18th/19th September. Maybe sooner if it gets delivered early. A week at the very most it'll take. Just need to wait and see what my week looks like. I understand we'll be waiting almost 2 years and finish the story in a matter of a couple days. A game like GTA doesn't end after the story though. With IV I finished the story within a few days and up until a few months ago I was just loading up my save to go around causing chaos then I tried out multiplayer but didn't enjoy it so got rid of the game. I'll do the same with V. If IV can last me almost 5 years then V will easily last me until long after VI is announced. rare.steak
As if HR departments within companies aren't enough, now it's gone Inception into deeper levels of HR because you Brits are economically and socially resourceful. Of course I'm sure it pays more than whatever hypothetical salary you think I will ever earn.
GtaVComments
I think I'll complete the story in a month but not the game to 100%. In fact, I don't think I've even done that in IV yet...
GKP
You fundamentally misunderstand what Recruitment companies do. Recruitment is not HR - recruiting for other companies and charging them a fee is different than an internal HR dept.
FutoDriver
It's true with pretty much every new game. I was looking forward to Bioshock Infinate and Tomb Raider but haven't touched either for weeks (Tomb Raider was garbage though). I always tend to look ahead at what games are coming next. It takes a real special game to keep your attention for months on end and GTA V will be facing stiff competition for me anyway. I'll be thinking about Wasteland 2 as I drive round the coast . As differently as you giant corporations and MNCs like to label and describe them, it's the same industrial field. Whatever your differences in job scope has to offer. But it's pointless for me to go on as I'm not going to want to know your duties down to a meticulous individual level. Have fun with more insightful graphs. Please look through the thread and see how many people have posted wondering what the point in the graph is, it is more than two. I understand the graph completeley, I just fail to see why you are pointing out such an obvious fact! and more to the point the fact you drew up a shoddy little graph to show it just baffles me.
