What's new (or at least interesting) is that R* singled out Los Santos and Blaine County... as if these are the only two main locations in the game. Before, everyone figured Blaine County would be one of several counties. The new post from R* almost makes it seem as if Los Santos and Blaine County make up the entire map. Magic_Al Posted April 16, 2013 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Los Angeles is in Los Angeles County, so Los Santos is likely in Los Santos County, though in the compressed geography of GTA the city and county probably have the same boundary. Blaine County may be based partly on Kern County, the county to the north of Los Angeles County. Another way to think of it is Blaine County being to Los Santos as Alderney is to Liberty City, though in GTAIV those areas were separate states while in GTAV both counties are in the state of San Andreas. "Of course many other modes of transport will also be available to accommodate your travel needs across Los Santos and Blaine County on September 17th..." - R* (4/15/13) Blaine County is old news, certainly, but the possibility that LS and BC are all there is to V's map (as implied by today's statement) is new news... or at least new cause for speculation as to the municipal makeup/organization of V's map. Makes me think Blaine county is really gonna be huge on a level we're not expecting. Makes me also wonder if you can ditch the cops to a degree by crossing county lines. I think that they were just trying to include Trevor in this update somehow. They have said that they dont want to have any portagonists as favorite. We always knew there was country side but they gave it a name in Game Informer. I think it's located in Los Santos which consists of Los Santos City, Blaine County, the Salton Sea area, Mt Chilliad, farms, desert etc... There is only going to be ONE county in the game, Blaine county, and everything, including Los Santos, is a part of it. If there were different counties then rockstar would have to make a sheriffs office for each one. That means they would have to design separate uniforms and cars for each one. We all know that r* isnt real big on properly designing cops so they aren't going to put that much effort into it. As it stands now there are only three uniformed departments in the game - LSPD, BCSO and SASP. Now i know there are going to be some "people" on here who are going to reply saying "uR wr0ng!!1! Thr wyl bi sevrl d1ffrnt counteez en da gaym!!!1!!1". You will say this because your to ignorant to use proper logic. So ill give my response here in a simple way you can understand - You're wrong. un94 Posted April 16, 2013 Share Posted April 16, 2013 I really hope that they just didn't mention the other countries in the game. Don't like the Idea of having just LS and Blaine County. Hopefully there are renditions of Red County, Flint County, Blueberry, etc. (maybe with other names). More forest- and farm-like areas. We've just seen some desert, mountains and sparse areas so far. Blaine County was mentioned in the second trailer in the part Trevor is introduced as the guy who "controls meth and arms trafficking in Blaine County". Most of us knew this already a long time ago. From least likely to most likely: 1. The V map is based on one ginormous county (Blaine County) and Los Santos is the largest city in Blaine County. 2. The V map is primarily composed of two large counties: Los Santos County and Blaine County. It was merely an oversight that R* didn't say "Los Santos and Blaine Counties." 3. Los Santos and Blaine Counties are just two of several counties that comprise V's map. They are merely the most significant counties in the game since Michael and Franklin live in Los Santos County and Trevor lives in Blaine County. Whatever the case, it doesn't change the fact that V is bigger than SA, IV, and RDR combined! I would rule out option number 3 because I do not believe they would specifically list Los Santos and Blaine County if there were other counties in the game. Both options 1 and 2 are possibilities. If the city of Los Santos was situated in Blaine County, I would think Rockstar would say "Los Santos and the rest of Blaine County" rather than naming them as though they are separate. So I can see there either being two counties, Los Santos County and Blaine County, or one giant Blaine County that includes the city of Los Santos and the entirety of the map.
