Whether it really IS just 2 main counties, or not, you really need to stop "worrying". I don't know how many "counties" or other specific areas will be part of the map, but we have confirmation from Rockstar that this is the largest map ever created by them. Why obsess over it further? J-B
That kinda confused me. I mean, I supposed Blaine County would be the name of the desert area, and then I was thinking there would be other counties with the countryside. It doesn't really matter. It's not like there will be more or less countryside based on how the virtual county lines are drawn. Multiple counties for the countryside is really unneeded anyway, as there is only one major city. Choco Taco
It does seem strange that the entire countryside will be within the same county. That area should be about the size of San Andreas.

It's just a hillbilly side of the City. Altogether, there are countrysides, deserts and so on. Blaine county is just one part of the map. There cannot be hillbillies there. It's NOT the Appalachias. Hillbillies(mountaineers) are only in the appalachian mountains. Blaine county is probably just an outskirt-countryside territory and there are probably other counties as well. Whether or not it's desert, farming, rural, etc.....who knows?
DarkDayz
People who are saying these aren't two different map areas are being completely ill minded, Rockstar have clearly identified with this post that they are two seperate areas in one world. As long as they are both nicely sized with the level of details IV had and a nice mixture of the two in the middle to seperate them as terretories, I see no problem. Blaine County is Blaine County. Los Santos is most likely in Los Santos County. Blaine County is a rural county section in the state of San Andreas. Los Santos County is another county section in the state of SA. Blaine County: Alamo, Zancudo, Grapeseed* LS County: Del Perro, Los Santos, East Beach *assuming As far as we know there could be another county hiding to the northwest where Grapeseed might lay (or not),But Blaine County is definitely not in LS. The game is set in SoSA not just LS, LS is just the main city in SoSA. EDIT: Before some one tries to bash me on how Del Perro is a part of LS...well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Monica Santa Monica is a beachfront city in western Los Angeles County, California, United States. Situated on Santa Monica Bay, it is bordered on three sides by the city of Los Angeles Edited April 15, 2013 by JStarr31

Yeah I'm kind of thinking Grapeseed is a small county like area, from images it doesn't really suit Blaine Country, but would suit very well in the middle of it and Los Santos county. I can imagine it would make for a nice transition between the two counties. Kind of like Rio Bravo was in Red Dead when going from New Austin to Nuevo Pariaso. County 55525 San Andreas, U.S.A 768 Venture Way Grapeseed Blaine County 22252 San Andreas, U.S.A Two different counties. Dick Valor
Interesting. As far as I can tell, there are three ways to interpret R*'s special shout out to Los Santos and Blaine County. From least likely to most likely: 1. The V map is based on one ginormous county (Blaine County) and Los Santos is the largest city in Blaine County. 2. The V map is primarily composed of two large counties: Los Santos County and Blaine County. It was merely an oversight that R* didn't say "Los Santos and Blaine Counties." 3. Los Santos and Blaine Counties are just two of several counties that comprise V's map. They are merely the most significant counties in the game since Michael and Franklin live in Los Santos County and Trevor lives in Blaine County. Whatever the case, it doesn't change the fact that V is bigger than SA, IV, and RDR combined!
