BUT THE BENZ Posted April 15, 2013 Share Posted April 15, 2013 This coccured to me some minutes ago...I don't even recall how I got to that thought...but here it is: WHAT IF What IF R* decided to release V for the PC first?? What if they didn't even announce a console version so far?? Would jaws drop? Would it be the end of the world? Would console gamers be mad? What if the console platforms had to wait HALF a year for the game? How many sales would be made? Yes it would it be much less, but would it be disappointing figures? Wouldn't their expenses be cashed back in anyhow? They'd still make a profit. Wouldn't console players buy it too for their (second priority box) PC? Would YOU buy a PC just to be able to play it on release day? I just said WHAT IF, asking - not rly judging (yes a little of course but mostly impartial) and I said that I didn't even know where the thought came from...no bad intentions and what you get is ...'revenge from PC users...nerd...grow up..' ha all that just for drawing a hypothetical image...uhm yeah Let's say on the PC market V would sell like 5 million copies within the first 2 weeks or something...that's like 50x5.000.000 which is 250.000.000 - and that would certainly be a pay off already. And it's not like the consoles money ain't coming in too, just coming a little later. No need for a half-a-year wait maybe, a release just 2 months later like max payne 3 or somthing. 'R* would go broke' is not the case at all if it was to happen. I guess "don't underestimate the PC market" is what I am implying here aside from just stating the thought of such hypothetical happening, asking questions resulting from it. Many who own consoles also have PCs, and aside from those DUAL gamers...many people have a PC and many people love GTA. it's 1+1 and it's easy math and the bank would go KA-TCHING anyhow one way or the other. whatever platform were to hit first. Even IF it was the PC. that's what I mainly tried to say. No hard feelings here. Yes I'm a PC gamer (sorry can't handle that stick, need my mouse) and it would be of course awesome to not have to wait for the game, but I am not really mad about that. And I ain't trying to say PC is better and OMG graphics and what not. why people no get point and get mad instead etc... I don't usually use the sites. I just remember in the gaming news instances of Call Of Duty and Gears Of War being leaked weeks before official release. I'm sure they probably do all end up console banned. It's just this pretence people have that it NEVER happens on consoles when it clearly does. And you have to build and troubleshoot it yourself, which is a time consuming pain in the ass for the average consumer who prefers to plug in and play. OT: If V was released on PC first, I'd most likely wait for the PS3 version so it can join (and complete) my 60+ game collection. If V was a PC exclusive, then I'd probably have to adapt and become a PC gamer. Sadly, I don't have a quad core processor or fancy graphics card so it'd cost me an arm and a leg to build a new PC, but I'd start with IV and V and see where my PC game collection takes me. AS I SAID ASWELL, it's GTA...it's a R* game...quality is garantueed (oh pardon that gta 4 hick up) and people will BUY it. and they'd still turn a profit from it. AND AS I SAID ASWELL (again) - consoles sales would come in too, just alittle later....there'd be no money lost. why you think they wanna make multiplayer such a great priority? so people tend more to actually BUY it, and not just download it. few bad apples you got everywhere.....x box is hacked and you can download games for it too, easily. noone every mentions piracy for consoles even though it's just as big if not bigger, since more people own consoles according to platform fan war statemetns from all over the world. Witcher 2 was the last PC game I was interested in, and I had to wait for it. I honestly don't think it would be that big of a deal to wait for GTA V. It would motivate me to buy a gaming PC, but I would probably just wait and I definitely wouldn't be complaining. Especially if I could buy a quality PC for $200.
