brendangta5
I was on the wickipedia page of GTA and ive never laughed so much at the abusee poor R* get lol.. Mostly by uptight little groups of 40-50 year old moms who send there 17+ children to bed at 8 ..all sueing them and blaming them for stupid things! Anyway do you think V will have much of this ? tator1
Well if that child is 17+ they can purchase the game so they would have no right to sue as the parent has no control over something the child buys if they are of legal age of consent to purchase. Famous-CLS
Of course the media will as always highlight GTA as the reason behind school shootings, murder and everything bad in the world... But... milkmansun
This time it will be more i think.. Especially they have included animals.. RDR may have passed it. But GTA will suffer because of it.. Just my thoughts...

grope_4_that_date
I think with all the mass shootings going around- at least one media station will try to "blame" Grand Theft Auto V. I would bet $20 on it.

I guess it's funny when people complain, but it never has and never will go anywhere. SA had "Hot Coffee", but that wasn't about controversy. It was about them including code that would've given the game a higher rating. If there's controversy, it won't matter.

ShadowDog94
Yeah, lots of controversy needed. It will only draw more attention and sales to the game. Silly complainers
73duster
There WILL be controversy, but only because of GTA'S name recognition. There are FAR more violent games in the market, but they don't have the same bull's eye target on their backs. The bigger attention is going to come from the NRA and their friends. They are already blaming Movies, video games and music for violence in society, in order to detract from the attention that the gun lobby industry is getting. It's funny how they can't stop screaming about America's second amendment rights, but are perfectly willing to throw the first amendment under the bus. CryptReaperDorian
Sadly, the world has grown too accepting to violent video games. It's not like it was ten years ago. I say "sadly" and "too accepting" since controversy pretty much made GTA. Without it, GTA III probably wouldn't have been as successful as it was, and the same would have probably hold true with every GTA after it. R* is one company that actually profits from sh*tstorms. GreenReign
To answer you, of coarse there will be controversy. Everyone knows that a bunch of soccer moms, probably all during that one week of the month will form some coalition to try and get GTAV banned. Citing it as the cause of the Newtown tragedy. AtomicPunk
Expect GTA V to be on Fox News on September 17. You do understand that all these news medias are owned by the same group of zio-bankster friends, right? There is no evidence that suggests that violent media of any kind influences a person to commit a crime, so until such evidence gets presented, by credible scientists, I think they should all shut the fu*k up and leave our beloved GTA the hell alone. It's a video game. If someone cannot tell the difference between a game and real life, then they got problemo's and their parents should be more responsible and not allow them to play ADULT ADULT ADULT video games. These games are for adults, not kids. Of course it will generate a little controversy. It's GTA! That's free publicity--let the magic do the work for you. Just my thoughts... PETA is irrelevant in this day and age now, they won't be able to do anything. R* should do as Ubisoft did with PETA. Something along these lines "We do not glorify the killing of whales and we do not support it. Just as much as we do not support the pirates style of life of being dirty, killing people and raping women." Boom. Whaling is still ing AC:IV
SunflowerSeed
lol I hope there is plenty of celebritys in this game that will file lawsuits irl. totally worth it
Gazabaza21
On the subject of controversy, it got me thinking that obviosly were pretty sure u can steal planes but what if you are allowed to also board planes as a passanger then get up out of your seat mid flight and basically hijack the plane? This may be deemed as controversial but do you think you should be allowed to do it consindering after all its just a game?
StalinBballin
To be blunt, it works. More controversy on the 24/7 American news networks = broadening the potential audience for R*. 97%, the logical, self aware and stable person knows its a video game. The remaining become psychopaths influenced by the game. The "tragedy" this person commits (because to the news, it always is) is broadcasted on 24/7 American news networks, and R* takes the blame, yet continues to sell millions, maybe billions, of copies. tl;dr If the networks didn't make such a big deal about it than R* and the GTA franchise wouldn't depend on it. Headlines are headlines.
