Which version of IV has the best story?

Just want to know, out of IV and it's two DLCs, which one do you feel had the best story to it and why?

 

Personally I felt that TLaD had the best story, as it seemed like the least predictable first playthough, the tension between Johnny and Billy + Brian kept me throughly entertained and I am simply an all around fan of biker culture.

IV's story was just incredible. Niko's ulterior motives were always there, but it wasn't too "on the nose" in the way John Marston's objectives were in RDR. Some say IV is filled with "filler missions," but I enjoyed Niko's daily grind as part time hit man, part time carjacker as much as his social life (friendships, romance). That was part of beauty of roleplaying as an immigrant hustling in LC, divided between conflicting desires for financial success (the American Dream) and vengeance/redemption. The dark endings accompanying the choice for either revenge or money reveal how hollow both pursuits are in the end, how there is never closure. All of the other choices, kill or spare moments, were invigorating and presented me with genuine dilemmas as few games do.

 

TLAD was too short and simply not fleshed out enough. There was no counterpoint--no time when Billy and Johnny were on good terms. They're at each other's throats from the very beginning and I was left wondering throughout the game how these two were ever friends, or why Johnny was even a member of the Lost. A fleshed out narrative would have shown the Lost at its peak, then at the end of its rope. Without the first part of the story, it never felt like a real or believable brotherhood to me... so its demise and Billy's ultimate betrayal had little to no emotional impact.

TBoGT had a story but it was way off and didn't connect to IV and TLAD's story, it was just completely randomized making it unable to understand.

I'll have to say IV. TLAD is a close second, though. It just isn't that long. TBOGT is just meh. The story makes no sense.

IV hands down the best. TLAD 2nd. TBOGT was ok...but like stated, didn't make sense. Why have Luis kill Balgerin (spelling) when he screwed over Niko the most. I would rather seen Niko take him out.

TBoGT seemed glued together. Like they just decided, "Oh this looks good. Let's keep it here. And we'll add some explosions." The missions with the explosions were awesome!!
