I expect Michael to be the first protagonist to be introduced and the opening sequence will be of him lying at his pool talking about his past.

The first few missions focus around Michael. Then Trevor and Franklin afterwards.

i think micheal will be the first one we will use because i have a feeling that he is going to be the main focus of the story. then r* will introduce you to the other protagonists and a bit of their story until all protagonists storys come together maybe half way through the game where they all meet for the first time

I get the feeling we will be playing as Michael and only Michael for the 1st mission of the game whilst the other two are introduced. I can imagine it starting in Michael's mansion, showing how his family life and showing us why he has the idea of the heists. I then see him driving to Trevor's to see him *cue tutorial section* after that, maybe a couple of missions with Michael and Trevor to introduce the switching mechanic and other gameplay features, and then then introduce Franklyn. After that we have total freedom on who we can play as and when.

Or they could have it so that every time you start a new game, the person you start as is random.

I think as the GI cover stated that it starts off with Michael and his wife.. then he rides his bike to the beach where he meets Franklin and then I guess Trevor taking a sh*t and meets up with them somehow.

i think ign gave it out awhile back apparently they said tracey or w/e his wife name is amanda i think it is leaves him with nothing and he gets on a bike and strts riding down the street, its shows him riding down hollywood blvd on a bmx bike. this is most likely how the game starts out since san andreas started out with cj getting all his money taken from him and forced to steal a bike. this might be nostalgic for alot of old gta fans, and new players would be confused of why he chose a bmx bike. i think thats how the game will start, idk how it will if you start playing it again if there back at home or out in the city some where or in the country side ridiing a dirt bike. because they said they can have a daily life and you can help people along the way. like if their engine wont start or you can give them ride, im guessing side missions. thats what i think will happen when you put the disc in and it will be the first cut scene and see him standing in his garage all is left is (jimmys" his sons bike in the drive way.

Yes IGN stated the first mission of V (including that micheal on bike pic) With his wife gettin his car and left him with his bike

Franklin AND Trevor. Since Michael meets Franklin somewhere around the start of the game. It was in the GI preview somewhere

I don't believe it was stated to be the first mission of the final game. It was just the beginning of the closed demo. Not the full game though, just a part that was bugfree, with some cool varied missions, showing a bit of everything new they have to offer. It would not make sense at all for a game company in general to demo the actual real opening part of the game for closed reviewers.

 

I also get the feeling that we'll start with Michael, but now that I'm thinking about it, this is mainly based on the demo (and him being on the first trailer solo). The whole wife/pool/bike part is probably somewhere early in the game (5-10%), but I don't see it definitely as the beginning. I think there will be a fairly long cutscene, and perhaps some flashback scenes/playable instances of the police and witness protection program, introducing Michael and him moving to LS. Perhaps followed by switching to Trevor at a more random scene, followed by some Franklin stuff. I expect the first 10% of V to be some small missions, introducing to new gameplay elements and the general first GTA missions, but without the 3 protagonists being together. Michael eventually meets up with Trevor (would be cool if they did this in a 'switch-system': Going with Michael to a meeting place, then half way through playing as Trevor going to that same place) I guess, and eventually runs into Franklin (scene in the trailer where Michael is on the bench and Franklin asks for directions). When the 3 are more comfortable with each other and have done their fair share of general introduction missions, I expect the real story to start where they are somehow forced to do heists.

Well I'm pretty sure it's not like EFLC (the game in general). Previews have shown that you switch real time, popping up a wheel menu and zooming out, zooming in on the new guy. Whether or not you can actually see another protagonist or interact with them, is still not clear (probably not). But the switching is not some lame ass start menu option. Switching in game results in the new protagonist doing some random things. Whether that will always be around his safe house, or that he could be high speeding downhill Chilliad is still unanswered, IIRC.

Every GTA game took its time showing the features, early missions having tutorials in them and stuff. So I guess they wont just throw in the feature right at the start, but introduce the game with Michael's perspective, who will meet with the two other protagonists and the game will tell you about the feature to change protagonists.

I also thought that they would start slow, with just one character. But I enjoy movies where there is alot of scene switching in the beginning, to multiple view points and characters. Things are not really clear and eventually our 3 (or 2) guys meet up in a place, by some weird way. You know, not giving you they option to switch, but fading out and then suddenly giving you control over Trevor. I don't know, not sure if it would work in a game or in GTA. Could be a fresh start instead of the same introduction we have in so many games. If they are really going to start with 'move the left analog stick to move', I'm a bit dissapointed.

then the game tells you or automatically transfers you to franklin where his cutsscene begins, driving with lamar then parking whatever vehicle they had,and begin to walk over to Michael asking him a question,the two then go on about their business, and bam switches to Trevor

 

Trevor, in a Bar, beats up 3 guys already, leaving one willing to fight you, you have to do the same old 'learn the fighting controls' technique, beat the guy,take his knife or whatever weapon,leave the bar drive to a nearby store.

 

and THERE. The beginning intro of the game is complete.

im guessing we will start as michael as he is the 'main' main protagonist, then we will learn the new stuff, then slowly be introduced to the others.

This. In the trailer we see Trevor talking about the "guns and crank" that run through him in the area. I have a feeling the beginning of the story for him will be him off doing his own thing, dealing drugs/Saturday Night Specials, until something either goes awry for him, or he hears about Michael in Los Santos. Franklin's first few missions may be him repossessing cars, trying small-time stuff with Lamar, until they meet Michael. Don't have much idea of how Michael's missions will play out until then. Throughout this time, I think all three characters will be struggling, money-wise.

 

However, I don't think it will take until halfway through the story for them to meet, maybe 6-7 missions each, max.

You play as Micheal first waking up in the morning, meet his family, go outside to get something (regular life things) come back home and put a suit on and go out for a walk. You sit on a bench thinking about your life, and how old your getting. Some black dude asks you a question and thats how you meet Franklin, you tell him where some house is. It teaches you how to switch characters and you become Franklin and you and lamar enter the house and beat up a guy that f*cked Lamar over on some hood sh*t (teaches you to fight or new fighting techniques if so). You leave the house argueing with lamar about getting out the streets. You switch back to micheal as he is driving and he gets a call from Trevor. He needs help you switch to Trevor and do something. Micheal then runs into Franklin once again, and they have a talk about life. Franklin and Micheal become friends and do stuff together like crimes or just drink, Lamar needs Franklin's hel[ with money problems thats when he calls micheal for help. They bond that way and micheal gets the idea of getting back into robbing banks to either pay someone back or pay the FIB or whatever. Thats when Trevor and Franklin meet

While this is good as it teaches you how to control on foot, in a car and in combat, it is not R* style to introduce their characters like this. Seems kinda forced to be R*’s style but an over all good system.
