GTA IV didn't suck, and GTA V won't suck, it's Rockstar how could they get it wrong Well, They really did get IV Wrong, the only thing good in IV Was the Euphoria Ragdoll Physics, everything else wasn't that good. IV Was complete Sh*t. it wasn't funner then Vice City or LCS so that's how you know its garbage. i thought IV 's story telling was really good, the voice acting etc was top notch. I'm quite sure that no other game on the console has as many diverse buildings as IV did, as many real life counterparts, and if there was a game that did, it most certainly didn't have those buildings detailed as well as building detail in IV. In all fairness, that is PARTLY due to Rockstar's release of so much information. This game needs NO promotion, but Rockstar seems to have slightly caved in to fans demands of more and more information. This is what happened with GTAIV. That was a truly remarkable game, yet there are many who say they didn't like it. The ONLY logical explanation for that is that their expectations were unreasonable at best. The most I was ever surprised and blown away by a game was when I first played GTAIII. That was completely due to the fact that I knew NOTHING about that game before I played it. As time has gone on, each and every successive GTA has been released after a ton of information was released, making it more and more difficult to meet the expectations they helped build. This means that all the features suck, the story, the characters, the gameplay. Pretty much what you said in OP. Now there is about a 50% chance that people are disappointed, much like IV. This means the game just isnt what people expected or wanted. If the first happens I think it will have a major impact on Rockstar games, especially GTA next. The will most certainly learn from their mistakes and come bake with probably the greatest game of all time. If the second happens I think they will just chalk it up to the fact that fans werent ready for the direction they were taking GTA, much like some fans werent ready for the serious, realistic IV. IV was, as said by Cracked, "the worst great game ever" and that's precisely what it is. Us it sh*t and awful? No. Did it maybe drift too far from GTA tradition? Yes, it was too serious and somber with reliance on depressing macabre themes, not humour and carefree loss. Did IV suffer because of R* inexperience with new physics and hardware? Absolutely. Compare II'I'LL to SA and you can see how much they learned. The thing is, though, IV didn't suck overall. Was it 'bad' i.e. an'not good' GTA game? Yes, in many people's opinion - and mine (I think SA, VC, III, and VCS - not LCS, though -are all better because of better gameplay and story). But now R* are experienced with the HD era with IV, MP3 and RDR. Conversely, they did do a lot of things right with IV a like shooting and Euphoria. IV was an over zealous experiment by R* because GTA was their claim to game; it was a cash grab. Now they're doing things right. Why would R* take a step back and release a s****y game? Look GTA is R*s baby and they take care of it as so. It will be the best game ever and anyone who disagrees has a right to their own opinion but in reality they are stuck in the past. GTA is moving forward to the future therefore changes will occur but for the better. Since people are expecting this to be the best game ever to be released and be amazing in every single way, it's going to suck for them. If you're just expecting a good game, then it won't. Only the people with unrealistic expectations are the ones that will think it sucks. There's also the idiots who will dislike it because it isn't to their preference, like be too realistic or maybe boring in some parts, and they'll say it sucks, when it's just not to their preference.
