CJs Sphincter
Towards the end of GRAND THEFT AUTO: IV Niko Bellic finally caught up with Darko Brevic - his old friend who was the reason Niko lost his entire squad. My question is, now that Niko has caught up with the wretched excuse of a person, was it right to kill him or leave him? Think of it morally, from Niko's perspective and whether or not your argument fits in with the game? Ps: did anybody recognise what Niko did with the bullets/times he fired? That may com into your argument.
theNGclan
It was not right nor wrong. It's a criminal's world.
Druffmaul
All I can say is that when I played it, I let Darko live because it seemed to fit the narrative. After all Niko went through, all of the murders he committed just for money, he really was a hypocrite. He was shattered 12 years ago by seeing his friends killed. Well, everyone he killed had friends too. Seemed right for him to realize that then and there and move on. EDIT: Of course I've killed him in replays, I've both spared and killed all of the "choose their fate" characters across multiple replays. But that doesn't count. The question is, what did you do the first time you played the game... which did you think was the "right" choice? Jon_Gravelli
I've done both, I spared him on my most recent playthrough, however I tend to kill him. Both endings do feel right, but at the same I can't see Niko work that hard to just let his main target go. Yes, it is arguably hypocritical of him to kill Darko, but Niko is a bloodthirsty monster really. He has no shame in killing people like Vlad, Mikhail, Ray, (etc) so I see it as sort of fitting that he finally does away with one his main enemies. It's especially satisfying to see Niko put a bullet for each squad member into Darko, I thought that was a nice little touch to show how much killing Darko meant to Niko. Dr. Robotnik
I'm rather torn between doing what would hurt Darko more, or just putting the bastard out of his misery, so I've got no clear answer. Regarding what makes more sense for the story, I'm leaning towards Niko killing him. The pointlessness of revenge would be a motive to choose the Deal with Dimitri later, but he could also decide to remain set in his ways and still go with Revenge. Sparing Darko I can only see pushing Niko towards the Deal ending; it wouldn't make sense for him to wise up and walk away from Darko, and then regress and go after Dimitri. Calanguento
I killed Darko, put him out of his misery. After everything Niko did to finally find Darko I just coudn't let him live.
