theNGclan
Hi, I have recently converted a DFF to VC as a new helicopter, but I have ran into two problems. First off, I cannot figure out how to get the blades of the helicopter to rotate. Secondly, I need to convert it's Col to VC too. I'm absolutely clueless on how to do this (I'm still nooby with Vehicle rigging ) So if anyone could help me, I'd be very thankful.
fireguy109
The blades will rotate automatically (sorta, it's complicated) if you set up the dummies right. As far as the specifics go there, as with any dummy rigging project it's easier to just import a VC heli and rename/move all the dummies/objects as needed. IIRC, the blades need the proper name and the proper dummies need to be at the proper locations. Col files involve converting the LOD file to a col file. The old way we'd do it was with .x files, open with notepad and delete the superfluous stuff then import in CollMaker, but it's been a while so there may be an easier way. Delete everything but the LOD and export from Zmodeler as a *.x file (DirectX file mesh). Then open it with Notepad and delete everything below and including Meshnormals. Then save it and open it with Steve-M's collision file maker (Collmaker). It will generate a col model for you. E: a few similar topics. More than one way to do it, like I thought. http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=511991 http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=516342 Edited April 18, 2013 by fireguy109
