Manny Pacquiao N1 Fan Posted April 14, 2013 Share Posted April 14, 2013 Here is our review of Grand Theft Auto V. I hope you enjoy this. y = -0.2x² + 12x + 11 y - 11 = -0.2(x² - 60x) complete the square y - 11 + (-0.2)(-60/2)² = -0.2(x² - 6x + (-60/2)²) y - 11 - 180 = -0.2(x - 30)² y - 191 = -0.2(x - 30)² This is the form of a parabola with vertex (30,191). The x term is squared so the parabola opens either up or down. a. The -0.2 tells you that the parabola opens down. ============= Found the problem--misplaced a decimal point. b. -0.2x²+12x + 11 = 0 Use the quadratic formula to solve ax²+bx+c=0 where a=-0.2 b=12 c=11 x = [-b ± √(b²-4ac)] / (2a) = [-(12) ± √((12)² - 4(-0.2)(11))] / 2(-0.2) = [-12 ± √(152.8)] / -0.4 = 30 ± -30.903 x₊ = 30 + -30.903 ≅ -1 invalid x₋ = 30 - -30.903 ≅ 61 Ticket sales increase until day 30, then decrease. c. Tickets will stop selling during day 61, so ticket sales start on day 1, and stop 60 days later. d. & e. y' = -0.4x + 12 = 0 -0.4x = -12 x = 30 Min/max occurs on day 30 y" = -0.4 < 0 so on day 30 ticket sales peak. f. Ticket sales peak at 191 on day 30. h. The solutions in this case are x=61 and x=-1. A quadratic equation always has two solutions (although the two may be identical). i. x=-1 is an invalid solution because the day can't be negative The graph of a quadratic equation is a parabola, which goes both up and down. Since dTickets/dx=-.4x+12=0 at x=12/.4=30 and the coefficeint on x'2 is negative, the function goes up for x<30 and it goes down for x>30. b. The answer to (a) is the answer here. That is, sales go up for 30 days and down thereafter. c. The largest value of x that solves the quadratic equation 0=-.2x^2+12x+11 is the answer here. That value is (-12+/-(12^2-4(-.2)(11))^.5)/2(-.2) =(-12+/-square root(144+8.8)^.5)/-.4 = about 60.90307 days For more classical reviews please check out http://www.youtube.com/user/TheEpicRants ~Manny Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Manny Pacquiao N1 Fan Posted April 14, 2013 Author Share Posted April 14, 2013 WHAT THE f*ck IS UP WITH ALL THESE sh*tTY THREADS TODAY, I MEAN REALLY. Oh, sorry. Here, I have some GTA V Cheats if you want! x^2-10x+y^2-20y=-125 what is x+y=? (Solution) First complete the square This is done by taking the x and y term (numbers in front of x and y not x^2 y^2) dividing it by 2 and squaring it and adding it to the other side so you get x^2-10x+25+y^2-20y+100=0 now break it up x^2-10x+25=0 and y^2-20y+100=0 trinomial factor it (draw an x put the last number on the top and the middle number on the bottom from each equation) now you want two numbers to put in the side of the x they will be the same number and must multiply to equal the top number and add to be the bottom number so for the x one i used used -5 (-5^2=25 and -5+-5=-10) and for the y i used -10 (-10^2=100 and -10+-10=-20) so those work now to write it in factored from its simply (x-5)^2+(y-10)^2=0 so now just take the opposite of the number in the ( ) for the answers so x=5 and y=10 because (5-5)^2+(10-10)^2=0 and to check you can plug it into the original equation to find that when x=5 and y=10 it will equal -125 as the original equations says so now x+y=5+10 which equals 15 the number you wanted hope that's long enough and i explained my process well enough Start with x = 19 and build up an equation, like this: x + 1 = 20 (x + 1)^2 = 400 (x + 1)^2 + 41 = 441 sqrt[(x + 1)^2 + 41] = 21 sqrt[(x + 1)^2 + 41]/7 = 3 sqrt[(x + 1)^2 + 41]/7 - 2 = 1 log{sqrt[(x + 1)^2 + 41]/7 - 2} = 0 cos((log{sqrt[(x + 1)^2 + 41]/7 - 2})) = 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Manny Pacquiao N1 Fan Posted April 14, 2013 Author Share Posted April 14, 2013 sweet. 10/10 Thanks! Here's the list of GTA V Vehicles. Simplifying 4y2 + 8y + -21 = 0 Reorder the terms: -21 + 8y + 4y2 = 0 Solving -21 + 8y + 4y2 = 0 Solving for variable 'y'. Begin completing the square. Divide all terms by 4 the coefficient of the squared term: Divide each side by '4'. -5.25 + 2y + y2 = 0 Move the constant term to the right: Add '5.25' to each side of the equation. -5.25 + 2y + 5.25 + y2 = 0 + 5.25 Reorder the terms: -5.25 + 5.25 + 2y + y2 = 0 + 5.25 Combine like terms: -5.25 + 5.25 = 0.00 0.00 + 2y + y2 = 0 + 5.25 2y + y2 = 0 + 5.25 Combine like terms: 0 + 5.25 = 5.25 2y + y2 = 5.25 The y term is 2y. Take half its coefficient (1). Square it (1) and add it to both sides. Add '1' to each side of the equation. 2y + 1 + y2 = 5.25 + 1 Reorder the terms: 1 + 2y + y2 = 5.25 + 1 Combine like terms: 5.25 + 1 = 6.25 1 + 2y + y2 = 6.25 Factor a perfect square on the left side: (y + 1)(y + 1) = 6.25 Calculate the square root of the right side: 2.5 Break this problem into two subproblems by setting (y + 1) equal to 2.5 and -2.5. Subproblem 1 y + 1 = 2.5 Simplifying y + 1 = 2.5 Reorder the terms: 1 + y = 2.5 Solving 1 + y = 2.5 Solving for variable 'y'. Move all terms containing y to the left, all other terms to the right. Add '-1' to each side of the equation. 1 + -1 + y = 2.5 + -1 Combine like terms: 1 + -1 = 0 0 + y = 2.5 + -1 y = 2.5 + -1 Combine like terms: 2.5 + -1 = 1.5 y = 1.5 Simplifying y = 1.5 Subproblem 2 y + 1 = -2.5 Simplifying y + 1 = -2.5 Reorder the terms: 1 + y = -2.5 Solving 1 + y = -2.5 Solving for variable 'y'. Move all terms containing y to the left, all other terms to the right. Add '-1' to each side of the equation. 1 + -1 + y = -2.5 + -1 Combine like terms: 1 + -1 = 0 0 + y = -2.5 + -1 y = -2.5 + -1 Combine like terms: -2.5 + -1 = -3.5 y = -3.5 Simplifying y = -3.5 Solution The solution to the problem is based on the solutions from the subproblems. y = {1.5, -3.5} Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
