Question for you guys - I have a secondary antagonist who is a dimwit, but he's a vicious dimwit who had attained a certain level of influence and power in his community.

Do you think it's possible for a villain to be truly detestable even when being shown as uneducated, cowardly and absurd? He's basically a drunken, failed human being before an event allows him to become important.

I'd say that makes him a stronger character

No bad guy for bad guy sake; he's got an element of depth to him. Being a dimwit opens the door to: is he really bad or just not knowing any better? An thus create some connection - beware of making it too strong though; you don't want the reader to route for him

 

I can see the reader pitying him, as well as looking down their nose at him. A hint of tragedy in it too? If he was smart, would he be different?

Writers' Discussion is dead. It's been dead for some time; and the only people that really kept it alive and kept the blood flowing was a few specific individuals. When dipsh*t, 4CHAN-Uber kewl warrior GTA-King showed up, it really was the straw that broke the camels back. The fact that a hack c*nt like him was becoming the primary figure just kind of showed me that Writer's Discussion just isn't the community it once was.

 

Christ, if Jacky Fiend, Unvirginiser, Saltinespike, and hell even Oxidizer came back then the place would have a shot - But they won't, because they've moved on. And when they all did, WD began to slip. I stuck around, and if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have developed as much as I did.

 

But now? Look at this place. Look at the majority of it. GTA-King? Seriously? The guy's a sh*tty writer. Orbitalraindrops? What? With his two-face jests, bumping elbows in the PMs with the one and only? Hurr durr. f*cking brilliant. All I ever see here is alot of talking. I see alot of "I'm gonna do this. Oh well you know, I'm gonna do that. I'm totally gonna have this."

 

How about you all just shut the f*ck up? How about you all move the f*ck on? Because WD ain't here no more. Not since this little f*cking medal-humping c*nt strolled in with his little troll attitude. It's just made everything so much clearer. Nobody writes here - Everybody talks. I believe this place has lost it's fair share of good writers who have been lost in the floor of GTA fanfics, and the douchey, pretentious, lowlifes - We all know the f*ck who - who got some recognition for their cheesy little GTA stories stick around because they believe on some level that they're worth people's time.

 

It's hilarious. It makes me laugh really. Most the people that stick around here and have been here for quite some time can understand the plight of WD. We worked hard at it. Now, we don't. We're all deflated and disappointed, because after all this time, it's lost to the f*cking mongoloids of this place who believe they've got some skill with a keyboard because they won a f*cking medal.

 

It's time you all grew the f*ck up. It's time you all f*cking sorted yourselves and just shut the f*ck up. f*cking Writers' Discussion. It isn't that at all anymore. But please, consider the following - even if you dislike GTA King, there are still good, intelligent members on here who you can talk to. Em, Mokrie and so on.

I know you enjoy writing and clearly have a passion for it, so why not just come here to brainstorm? To shoot around ideas? And see if others think your ideas will work, pop in to give status updates and generally shoot the breeze?

 

I know you're annoyed and I understand why, but this place is still pretty good and there's a lot of people here with good heads on their shoulders. Due to my paranoia and general twattery, I don't post much here anymore. But I like talking through ideas, going through the craft. It's really nice when you guys and I can just talk about characterisation and the mechanics of the narrative.

 

Maybe just go back to basics, ignore the feud and let's talk about writing? It would be a shame to see you leave on such a bitter note.
