BenVS Posted April 13, 2013 Share Posted April 13, 2013 I am a big fan of CVG's GTA 5 o'clock show on YouTube, as I guess some of you too will be as well. On one of their recent episodes, second or third last, they were discussing a theory about Michael & Trevor in regards to the casting call. They came to the conclusion that Michael and Trevor could possibly be brothers. I think they mentioned how there was two De-Silvas in the casting call and they both tie in with the characters of Michael & Trevor. They ended up suggesting that Michael and Trevor were their new identities given to them, and were forced to live apart IIRC. This is just off the top of my head. I thought it was an interesting suggestion, although I can't really see it being true. I might try and find the episode, but anyone else that has listened to it will know what I'm talking about. But, how can those two assholes be smart if they think Michael and Trevor were both De-Silva's and had identities changed when we obviously know that Michael was the one who was a "De-Silva" which was obviously a change in game from the first trailer. And Rockstar didn't say that they were forced to live apart either. If you want to listen to "Smart people's" opinions, first find people who actually know about the game as much as we do and not made up crap. And unless I'm mistaken I thought its known that Michael and Trevor knew each other before hand as they used to do bank jobs together? We know this already since Rockstar said they've robbed banks together in the past and etc. The funny thing is Trevor says to Michael "Jesus, your therapist has a lot to answer for", which is contradictory and also tells us he might somehow be similar to Trevor's personality in some ways. Yes we know they are friends. But the point the CVG guys are making is Michael is a smart guy, Trevor is a wildcard and can obviously be a big liability especially on a well planned heist. So why would Michael enrol him knowing this? This is where they started to muse over the brothers theory using the casting call as inspiration, they never claimed to knowingly think that they are brothers, just look at the evidence and make a suggestion. What I'm saying is, whilst I don't agree with the brothers aspect, I think they are onto something with the Michael/Trevor dynamic. Maybe Michael feels he has some sort of responsibility towards Trevor in some way. Does Michael include him because he feels sorry for Trevor? Maybe that's where some conflict could arise, Michael almost looks down on Trevor in some aspect and under estimates him, whilst Trevor is angry that Michael is almost taking pity on him by including him. Yeah i was thinking that too. I doubt Michael looks down on Trevor, considering sometimes that using your temper is a good thing although not always. And yes, i also think he has a responsibility towards Trevor, who most likely might want to help him act smart and loosen up his anger management lol. Think of it this way, in Casino, De Niro technically takes help from Joe Pesci who comes to LA and starts positively first and then makes everything do down the drain. It's gonna be a similar situation from my opinion, obviously apart from the big big f*ck ups and the death part.
