What part of "re-imagined" don't people understand. It is not suppose to be EXACTLY like LA.

I understand everyone who says the city looks big and maybe it is but what I'm afraid of if Rockstar gets that LA vibe again. Till now it's not there for me.

What I miss is suburbs or places like Compton, Watts, Boyle Heights. Nothing has reminded me of those area yet from the pictures/info we got till now. Only a bit in Franklin's trailer but it seems it was all from the same block.

From the pictures with an overview of the city I have the feeling these kind of areas are not there or at least they are not very big. Most of the buildings in Los Santos seem more like officebuildings. I haven't seen any residential areas.

Eerrrm, nobody said it was tiny. Don't remember hearing that on here. Refer to earlier posts.

If you can't read English properly or you have problems with your eyes, then there is not much I can do to help you.

Because you clearly don't seem to understand exactly what is being discussed here, and I'm certainly not repeating myself. But you sure are sounding like a fool while trying to sound smart.

Very impressive, Choco Taco! That gives a good perspective. The city looks plenty big in my opinion, and I think people are forgetting the other settlements sprinkled throughout the map.

Also, the screenshots we're looking at don't necessarily show the full extent of the city, because the sprawl likely continues beyond what we're seeing, especially that bridge that's off in the distance in those pictures.

Especially, to that far right. Looks like there is a lot more beyond

EXACTLY, I'm wondering where the f*ck all the hoods and ghettos that make up LA/LS are Aswell.

No compton, watts/south central, inglewood, Crenshaw/Baldwin hills or long beach!! Where the hell at they.

Franklins trailer was more action packed than informative about the size/ types of hoods

I personally think we are not seeing all of the city. The city extends further south and a bit further north west than what we are actually seeing.

And remember that the underwater portion of the game will count towards Rockstar's comments on it being bigger than San Andreas.

I'm guessing from the tip of the mountain to the bottom of the ocean would of been taken into consideration about the overall size.

I think the detail that most of us might have missed is that with all the screenshots, we haven't really seen how far the city area stretches towards the right , when looking from the Vinewood sign. Even the picture of the plane flying along the coast doesn't include the view of the skyline, preventing us from getting a clear idea of how far the city borders are from one another.

sorry Mezarra, they're only looking at the pics that make LS look small to them, not the ones that make it look big.

Gta V will suck for those couple but we'll enjoy it more than ever with the rest of the world

Lets leave those couple to masturbate in a corner to the massive size of true crime's boring city while we enjoy gta v

Not So, its just that the bridge shot above does indeed show the city at its widest point, from the docks to the Vinewood hills.

So what ?...doesn't discount the fact that in actual square blocks - the city is lacking.

True Crime ?..is your tiny mind not able to comprehend there is a gaping chasm between a 3 sq mile dwarf LA and a true to scale ( for at least part of it ) 240sq mile one ?

CAN YOU ??? YOU f*ckING MORON!!!!!

You must be on your period but hopefully you wont be September 17, 2013 because by then you'll see the whole city as a decent size but

if you keep up this type of denial maybe you wont, anyways its YOUR loss because we'll enjoy it.

"Its small, still small, small, smaaaall smaaall" is a summary of what you've been basically saying on posts, but I want you on september

to buy Gta V along with a supply of tampons with a roll of toilet paper and play Gta V with its perfectly detailed game size, if the size doesnt

satisfy you go masturbate to a youtube video with a helicopter hovering over Los Angeles because guess what kid? This is Los SANTOS !

Calm down man its not that serious. I get your points and some are valid. But to accomplish what R* is doing here it would be impossible to make this a true to life representation of LA. Also other posters have stated that we have not seen the whole city. So instead of saying that your opinion is the correct one why not try to see it from a different perspective.

@ Raavi

I've never been to LA, but from my research, looking at pics, images and being given descriptions of people I've spoke to who are from there or been there, I know the place is HUGE.

LS should look a bit bigger than it looks to reflect LA's vast expanse of urban and suburban districts.

Yeah, after living there for 2 years I've been there plenty of times but that was always on business, which never gave me time to actually explore. My recent visit did, and gave me the opportunity to explore all the different areas and "taste" if you will the different atmospheres. Atmospheres I don't taste in LS, (except for Venice beach, they nailed that one). They cut out so many iconic spots and buildings in LA that it isn't even funny more.

Tip: If you don't have the means/possibility to travel to LA, just go to google maps, drop the streetview icon at a random point in LA and go from there. It's the closest to the real thing you can experience. Plus this also helps you realize the fact that size is of the essence.

Where are people getting 3 square miles from? Did I miss something? Pretty sure that number is not a fact and needs to quit being thrown around like it is fact. Wasn't it also stated that Los Santos will technically cover more square miles than Liberty City?

Dude, maybe in 2030, when all our computers can handle it and Rockstar can afford it, maybe we'll see a life-sized city.

You really want to do a mission for 2 hours because just driving there takes too long? Look at L.A. Noire. I get really pissed when driving just from Wilshire all the way to Hollywood Blvd. It's a f*cking game, if you really want to see a life sized Los Angeles, go there. There are a lot of places that are completely boring and obsolete that it's not necessary to include it in a game.

When people compare the sizes nowadays, they aren't talking about Los Santos County, ala the entire map. They actually mean the Los Santos Metropolitan Area, basically the region where the city with the skyscrapers and urban settlement are, not the countryside or the beach or wherever that is going to be less densely populated than the city.

Ehh yeah I know, hence my post about Los Santos. I didn't mention the countryside lol tounge.gif

I was questioning as to how people came to the conclusion that Los Santos is 3 square miles. If I remember correctly, it was stated that the city of Los Santos covers a little more land than Liberty City.

I sure hope so ! Los Angeles isn't as easy to condense as New York since the former is far more dynamic especially the ghettos and Hollywood. Where did you hear that the city is bigger than Liberty?

I'm pretty sure it was in the original cover story in the Game Informer magazine. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I'll look for a quote.
