This is the alleged map of Chicago in WatchDogs, by the way. How does LS compare to this? Any calculators online now?

I'm telling you right now that the entire city is no more than 1.25 miles wide at any given extreme. That is the maximum.

 

So those "1m, 1km" lines, are way too short, because according the image above, it's like 3 miles wide - and that is not the case. It is 1.25 miles squared (it's an approximation, but it is definitely not 3 or 4 km wide - it is only 2km wide. 1.25 miles (mark my words, this is the correct scale to within a 1/4 miles too big, not 1/4 mile too small)

 

The entirely of the city itself is between 1800 and 2000 meters. Scale your maps to that and you'll see it's accurate 

 

 

 

I won't be surprised if grids are 1000x900 meters.

 

 

Yeah, I hope you're just trolling... You realize you're suggesting that V's LS is smaller than GTA III's Liberty City, right? IV's Liberty City was something like three miles wide (counting travel over bridges, with water in between) going from furthest point East to furthest point West and something like two miles from north to south. Are you really suggesting LS is actually significantly smaller than IV's Liberty City? We know for certain is not the case.

There was a talk of Chicago being much bigger than LS. Is it, calculators of GTAF?

From this it looks like LS will be at most two thirds the size. I'm happy with that considering Watch_Dogs is pretty much all city. (I've heard talk of there being countryside but I'm not sure it'll be a substantial amount at all)

No, it's obviously going to be larger than LS. It's just that you can't 'know' the map unless you're working at Ubisoft

Sure you can. In terms of size, it is definitely possible. Quality is a different subject.

 

Edit: If that's 40-50 percent, then I think Los Santos is quite a lot bigger than Watchdogs Chicago if the current LS LC scale comparisons are correct. But it's eye balling I guess. If the 40-50 percent thing is correct then my eye balling estimate is Watchdogs = size of GTA IV.

I think we can compare the sizes roughly, but I don't see the point in doing so. I think V's Los Santos looks a lot more fun, and this is a thread about LS vs LC, not LS vs a city which is obviously going to be bigger with a very different feel to what Rockstar usually produces...

 

I'm going to try to post a series of screenshots from the gameplay trailer which show the city looking massive

In my opinion I never saw the point in comparing LC and LS, when during GTA 4 did you think how bigger than GTA san andreas this was.

 

I guarantee during Gta v when you're driving through LS you wont be thinking let alone worry yourself about the size of the city when you're in a getaway heist.

I really hope the beach stays somewhat as detailed as in that picture. It sounds mental, but it would be awesome to just walk through all of that, watching people jogging and sunbathing, and then just plowing through all of it with a bus.

Rumor Watch Dogs suppose to be like 12 mi SQ 2x bigger than Liberty City GTA4, very close to San Andrea size

 

 

 

Watch Dogs map be might bigger than Saint Row 3 Map or 1/2 the size of San Andreas.

 

 

It probably going to be more detailed than Los Santos

What is that rumor even based on? Ubisoft has been very tight lipped about size. They even made the claim they aren't into making big maps for the sake of it. If the city is indeed twice as big as LC I don't see how it somehow is going to be more detailed than Los Santos. Rockstar is known for detailing as you can even see in the numerous screenshots and trailer. Ubisoft, in my opinion always cuts corners at some point with their games, mainly near the end.

 

So far Chicago doesn't even look that big nor does it seem the "suburbs" will add that much more space. Chicago having little width but a lot of length is very deceiving, including the many roads with smallish city blocks.

You can't fly airplanes in watch dogs. You can't own dogs nor will there be animals in the game. There is no wilderness in watch dogs. Watch dogs is limited as f*ck . Who cares if the city is bigger lol
