GKP, Its over, I thought you were better than this, that if you actually saw the evidence you would stop wining but I was wrong you would never stop.

 

There were a bunch of people attacking the size along with you and they made some good arguments but after they saw more info about the city they admitted they were wrong but

now you still attack the game.

Your reference of a better open world Game than GTA V is an arcady PS4 racing game and a PS2 GTA rip off with extreme lack of any detail whatsoever. There is nothing to find in those hundreds of pages that can compensate for that. You have no reference point of what a better open world game is like, thus your criticisms lack any substance whatsoever.

A quick overview of why a 3.5 sq mile representation of LA is not a good outcome.

 

1) - short city police chases

 

2) over familiarity within a few weeks of gameplay. With half the city blocks of IV you will know every corner, every district in no time.

 

3) A district or suburb being 4 or 5 square blocks is a f*cking abomination - why so tight over city blocks R* ? - technical constraint ?

 

3) The jarring effect of driving through the 'hood' , downtown and hollywood all within 90 odd seconds. What the f*ck is that ? No immersion - a miniature golf course sized city.

 

Other awful aspects of this game - slow jet speeds - check the MP footage - whats that...120 mph maybe ?...is this SA ? - As I mentioned , poor framerate - poor driving physics , amusing damage control by R* ...a tuned car eh ?..hugely unrealistic jarring handling . Look at the 2nd trailer - the infamous reverse 180 by the Aston Martin. It gets worse everytime I see more of this game.

As magic als map shows - how you expect to shoehorn in all of LC's landmass into LS is a mystery people. Its 2.8-3 sq miles tops , Absolute tops...3 sq miles ! - stingy motherf*ckers you are R* !!!!

I agree the jets looked really slow in the latest trailer (I thought the jet that flew by in the first trailer looked really quick though). I guess the speed of vehicles has to be scaled appropriately in relation to the size of the city, otherwise you'd cross the entire map in a matter of seconds!

 

I also agree that 'miniature golf course version of LA' is an apt analogy of the map (at least what we know of the map so far). But I fail to see how that's a bad thing?! Like Liberty City, we can expect LA to be a condensed version of its real life counterpart... that's kind of the point of 3D era GTA, or at least what the devs are aiming for: a microcosm of modern US cities.

 

Your expectations are out of line with the evidence Rockstar's previous games have provided.

It is only a disappointment for people that care as much as you do about the size of the city, which is.. you and ChocoTaco. Maybe not even him, he is just trying to prove that it is smaller than LC. Every other aspect of the game is top notch and unparalleled compared with other open world games. And I really do not understand what you mean about the framerate dips at all. I have probably watched the gameplay trailer about 8 times now, and never noticed even the slightest drop. Even those idiot previewers who did nothing but complain about the graphics stated that the framerate was at a constant 30fps.

If he was indeed disappointed (and not trolling), it was because of his own unrealistic expectations which have nothing to do with R*'s marketing (they never actually said anything about the city...)

It's already been proven LS is bigger than LC and GayKeePee can't even accept that. Even if it was a tad smaller, LS would feel big and is more open since it's based on LA.

We know the streets are the same width, so to me this is the most accurate method.

From page 2 GKP has been whining about the map being small, even after the gameplay video when all the map complainers admitted to it being actually big he still complains, respect to them for seeing the common sense and those people actually continiously defended their opinion for 100s of pages, yet GKP kept going even after valid info.

 

Its like he was a virus created when this thread was made. Thank god the people with actual common sense like Raavi, Official general came to realize the map is big.
