After that you're all free and able to analyze properly as you have solid grounds to base said analysis on. But now, you're regurgitating old arguments and really grasping at straws. I have to agree with this

 

At this late stage, all this stuff is a bit pointless now. The main debate surrounding the city's size has been somewhat settled. Anything else is pure speculation now. It's best to just wait and see what really is the case, as far as these little details are concerned.

You should apologize to the few people who were just optimistic about the game for calling them R* a** kissers. I'm not talking about the ones who were so sure that the city would be gigantic either. They can burn too. I would say they should apologize too, but honestly, they are so incoherent compared to you guys that it'd be pointless, because they do in fact have their heads permanently positioned next to the R* office toilet to lick the poo off after they go doo doo.

 

But, I'm not trying to be a dick. It's just good to see that you're not letting this get to you still. I respect you all.

I still don't understand why people are making this unnecessarily complicated. Most of us who believed that LS was pretty large were called the "RDF", Rockstar Defense Force, which was basically a childish reaction to people who preferred common sense, over made up numbers that were crunched into formulas.

 

I'm not surprised one bit that the map is turning out to be as large as we thought all along. Why?

 

1- Most screenshots were of the SAME areas at different angles, and usually from far away. Now that we have seen other areas, and close to ground shots of areas we've previously seen before, it's easy to see that the previous screens were too far away to give you a true sense of how immense the city really is.

 

2- Rockstar SAID so! The developer clearly stated that LS was around the same size as LC. Who would know better than Rockstar? Only those who were so sure of themselves and their faulty math that they resorted to calling the rest of us the "RDF", for not going along with their inaccurate conclusions.

 

Simply looking at a fictional map based on a video game will not give you precise numbers that will give you an accurate way to determine anything. While I will give some credit to the work put in by a couple of members who put together their "theories", that work was only good for speculation and passing the time. There's nothing wrong with having some fun, but those who insisted that LS was "tiny" or way smaller than LC threw any notion of "fun" out the window when they resorted to calling anyone who didn't go along with them Rockstar ass kissers.

They reminded me of the SAME guys who were bashing everyone over the head for MONTHS with their stock market expertise, and their financial reports that they interpreted to mean GTAV was coming last October, THEN it was all about January, February and finally March. Wrong on every single count.

Again, anyone who disagreed with their release date predictions was labeled a Rockstar fanboy, or worse. Normally, I couldn't care less, but i'm sick and tired of know it alls who call anyone who actually gives Rockstar the benefit of the doubt an ass kisser.

LC without water is 3.25sq miles I think. I'm expecting LS to be 3.6sq miles.

I think the part of LS we've seen on the blueprint is 10 percent bigger, and the total is 15 percent bigger. I think this based on GTAaLEX117's comparison, which is the best and most believable one. I hope the full map is 4,5 times as big as Los Santos, and then los santos 15% bigger than Liberty City. That would be perfect to me, and it matches with statements by R*.

 

People also needs to consider that next to the fact that everything in this game is bigger, everything has also improved in quality.

Yeah I was that guy, but I always stated that if I'm proved wrong that I'd admit it with my hands up. But you were kinda wrong about what I said. I said that LS looked smaller than LC according the screenshots and trailers available at the time,and truth be told, it looked like it was to me. LS just did not look that big, that was what I saw. But new evidence from the gameplay video (zoom-in feature on the map) now clearly indicates that LS in GTA V is much bigger than it looks and what some of us thought it to be. I'm pretty sure after seeing this, that LS is indeed big.

Ah I got it from Wikipedia, and some guy on here called Dean Bosco was able to format it for me to use it as an avatar on here, because I was stuck on how to do it !

I'd say this is right, it really looks correct. It's going to feel way bigger though, it's gonne be a lot more organic with a lot more changes in direction of the city's "grid" system.

 

Liberty itself would feel a lot bigger oriented like that, it makes it a lot more dense and sort of removes the straight small grid of Algonquin, this effect is maximized on the los santos maps, appears to be designed for a more organic feel.

I agree. The fact that it has less skyscrapers will also make it feel a lot more open and big.

I didn't consider the implications of the lesser vertical nature of the majority of los santos. that will indeed make it feel much more massive and sweeping, urban sprawl.

 

Broker felt absolutely huge compared to Algonquin (even leaving out the Dukes/East section), off of the strength it was a more organic drive and it was all relatively low. But LS will have many more 1 story flats and stuff all around while even Broken has mostly 2 or 3 stories.

 

It will definitely feel vast.

It's not deceptive. It is exceptional in the sense that it removes the water, but it's not scaled as separate pieces - it is jigsaw'd (rather well I might add) and then scaled over the map - and it is potentially very correct.

look at both of these maps side to side. save the Santos one and zoom in on it until both are the same size....and then COUNT THE STREETS from long to wide in Los Santos....and youll see that Dukes/Broker literally takes up the entire bottom part of the map....and Bohan would take up Most of the top part. Los Santos is only a bit larger than Dukes, Broker and Bohan combined.

Don't mesure in blocks and streets, LS and LC have different scales.

 

In the gameplay trailer, one of the smallest blocks near Venice Beach looked the size of the average Block in Dukes Broker, while it looked tiny as hell on the map.
