even you don't believe what you just said. SMALL LOS SANTOS IS SMALL

You're a bum head. Los Santos looks plenty big enough.

The only reason why it looks absolutely massive is because it's night time and it looks like there's fog blocking our view of looking all the way out. If it were daytime I guarantee you would see all the way out to the coast of LS. Plus they heavily improved the lights at night so that adds to the illusion.

SMALL LOS SANTOS IS SMALL

Where did that come from?!

It's not small... it's just the view in that screen makes it look small

This screen shows how big LS is.

There isn't much more to LS than that pic, so yes, it is small.

You can't see the Port of LS, much of Southern LS, LSX and Del Perro pier. But to each their own.

I think most will be satisfied with the map size when they actually play the game.

Exactly. There is just the beach, port, and the west part of LS, which isn't much more to the screenshot according to the blueprint. So yes, LS is small.

How the hell can someone fake a pic like aboves? of course it legit man. And besides, why would someone bother with this when we are getting pictures more often now.. :S

About the new pic, LS looks indeed VERY small there, however, i think its just the angle and the city itself wont be small at all, or at least those are my hopes.. smile.gif

It's from an LA Noire repressing or repacking to contain some gta v promo card or something. There's a topic for it specifically, aside from its uses here, with all the info on the pic itself. icon14.gif

I've been trying to re-read this topic again to find if anything new appeared after my last post here, but it seems it turned into a creativity center, with people giving names to each other. Let me try to put something on topic.

Can someone (preferable an inhabitant of real LA) say how accurate scale-speaking is this pier? Is it 1 to 1 compared to the real Santa Monica Pier, or it was scaled down (and how much)?

I don't live in LA but the pier looks spot on.

You can even see the small lifeguard station from the first trailer.

Yes, I was imagining it so. I actually tried to find pictures on similar angles so they can be compared in a more accurate look.

If someone else can confirm this, it's where we should start to measure the map. We don't need even 3D tools to start! You can draw a line over it using any free drawing tool and then use it to measure the rest of the city. smile.gif

Anyone who is actually expecting a 1:1 scale recreation of Los Angeles is the only one who would be let down. They're probably the same ones who think the game is going to suck because there aren't as many cars or peds on the street, well, this is a hardware limitation that's always been around, this gen, last gen, will be next gen too. Maybe it can do a little more. But the problem of too much stuff at once slowing performance has been a reality of game design from the start. I just want it to run smoothly.

If GTA V's Los Santos/surroundings is, say, anywhere near the size of the RDR map, we're talking about a lot of space for a video game city.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be."

Prior to the whole, GTA IV + San Andreas + Red Dead Redemption size announcement, all I was asking for is a city the size of Liberty City, and a countryside the size of Red Dead Redemption.

We know the city is close enough to the size of Liberty, so I'm already on the path to being very pleased.

It's larger (about 20% or so) than the landmass of Liberty City without the water. And the water is just filler...

Really rough estimate.

But that would make LS city 4 miles south to north. And 3 miles east to west.

9 square miles.

Again fast rough estimate.

20% ? No chance. Maybe 10% if we are lucky.

This is already about 20% larger: http://i1173.photobucket.com/albums/r597/A...eRdVHighway.jpg

And LC should be even smaller than this considering the road widths.

But yeah, everybody has their own methods and expectations.

Not sure how you measured 20% out if that but there's definitely not a 5th more of LS than LC.

Can you actually do something useful around here instead of complaining and insulting people? Like maybe doing some comparisons so your claims seem a bit more valid?
