LS looks huge in this one

I'll be honest, it looks VERY big tbh.

EDIT: Post above, I agree 100% with everything. If you only enjoy the city, I feel bad for you honestly. My favorite part is the greenland, there is even a desert and underwater for us, like really people.

What's the point in this thread now anyway ? R* have already f*cked up the size of the city like a bunch of twats but now with just 3 months to go its too late to rectify the problem, deal with it.

Oh, i supposed you've played the game, "Twat".

Well the city does take place at night and the lights give off an illusion I'm sure. I'm not sure if you can already see the beach from all the way out there but as long as the city portrays the LA Vibe I'll be fine with it.

Did you guys know that seeing something from high up/far away makes it seem smaller?

Seriously.. and that's only the eastern side from downtown.

I'm sure our jaws will drop when we see the entire city from a mountain top in game ourselves with everything running in motion.

If I'm not mistaken GTA IV's landmass is 4 Square Miles and if you include the water between the Islands it's 6.25 Square Miles and with the comparison's GTA V Los Santos is slightly bigger than GTA IV's Landmass. IMO that's Huge.

Well, Los Santos takes up less space on the map than Liberty City and you'll be able to cross it faster. Plus, you have a direct route across nearly every spot in Los Santos, whereas in Liberty City, you could only get from one island to another from just a few spots. That made travel times longer and Los Santos will feel smaller since it lacks that.

Getting around Liberty City was a pain in the ass. I'm glad that island bullsh*t is over. I think that's a good thing.

You can be happy about that, but Los Santos is going to feel considerably smaller than Liberty City.

It's silly to those who lack common sense.

If you have more direct routes across a smaller piece of land, travel times will be shorter making the game feel smaller.

you dont know how big los santos is... its still just speculation at this point. ive never looked at a screen and thought "hmm los santos looks small". im one of the 70% whos "satisfied" wiith the size of los santos. looks plenty big enough to me... quite a bit bigger than liberty city in my opinion.

You're actually right. Remember travelling from Los Santos to Las Venturas? That made the game feel really small, but when travelling from Los Santos to San Fierro, it felt as if it took ages.

It will all come down to street level.

Arrogant of you to assume how other people will feel playing a game. It will feel big enough to others and obviously lacking to some, its all subjective. IMO it is a good thing and found the bridges a hindrance and only served to make traveling LC limiting. Now there is a seamless path across the city and through to the ajoining highways to the coastlines and countryside. I will be able enjoy a nice long drive without the interuption of using bridges which i think will make it seem even bigger.

You have to factor in more than just the direct routes, you also need to take into consideration the increased traffic, the fact that the roads are much more curvy (LC was very grid-like and straightforward), etc.

It's still a bold statement either way.

People seem to always cry because they think with San Andreas, they had the biggest map ever.

It was, back in the day. But there was also plenty of space with nothing to do. GTA V's map will be packed with sh*t to do even underwater.

People can debate on and on how V's map will be small, when in fact, it won't be small. Despite all official statements that it will be the biggest map ever, just get into GTA 4/EFLC, fly high with the heli and look from certain angles over LC, you get the whole picture, the whole map.

Ever compared these views to screens or vids from GTA V? There are pics where we are obviously so high in the sky, yet we only see LS, or the hills, or the desert. Whatever, people who are stuck with the illusion GTA V's map is small shall continue. I don't give a f*ck.

I agree with this. I hate it when people state their opinion about the "feel" of a city which they haven't been in yet as fact.

Yes, let's make giant roads that lead us nowhere. That will make us die of boredom and it will make it a better game.

If you can fool yourself into believing a shorter route will somehow make the city feel bigger, then good for you.

You act as if big is the only goal when making this game. Making a massive city which is repetitive and boring, with roads that take forever, that seems like a description of hell. Still it seems to be what you want. R* made this city this size on purpose, and I trust their creative judgement infinitely more than yours.

why bother with this small LS in GTA V? You can already play the big LA in True Crimes LA! Go ahead and enjoy this game.. as you seem to believe that a big city is the most important thing to making a great game :-)

Did you like having to drive to one of the few bridges in IV to get from one island to the next or was it tedious?

Just curious, how did the LA Noire map compare to IV's? I remember it being monstrously huge, but what, 2, 3 times bigger than LC? And yet it was incredibly forgettable.

I rather drive through city, towns and countryside than over those boring highways between Dukes, Bohan and Algonquin. Sometimes that bored the f*ck out of me. I forgive IV for things like this, because I liked that game very much, and it is the only way to depict New York truthfully, but I wouldn't say that driving over those boring highways was fun. They were grey and boring, which was the general atmosphere of IV. It had it's charm for the time I played, but I don't think I'll be paying IV again soon.

I love how all the people who are in love with the size of Los Santos are talking sh*t about how perfect it is, and the people who think it should be bigger get called stupid because, "you want a huge city with no detail." But I guarantee you when R* announces the next GTA city will be their biggest and most detailed all these people will jizz themselves.

People talk about how boring True Crime L.A. was because of it's size. It wasn't because of it size, but because the developer sucked ass. If you take that same map which was on PS2, and give it to R* to work with on current consoles, they would make that game a 10/10. So I don't want to hear this bigger city means less detail bullsh*t. Your telling me if R* made this map a 1/2 bigger, they wouldn't be able to detail it? F*ck outta here.

For the people who will tell me, "don't buy it then, blah, blah, blah." I think the game looks great, but I still think Los Santos should be bigger. So keep your childish rebuttals to yourselves.
