From the above pictures, it is evident that humans walk with their hands tucked inside their pockets. Not everyone, but at least 20/60 walk that way. Here's hoping, they add realistic walking animation to the game. This adds to the immersion. These little things matter. RDR improved things a bit further. Peds slowed down for good, finally in RDR. But still, everyone had a monotonous animation -- the cowboy walk. But since this was period appropriate, it was easy to overlook. ToTheWorld Posted April 4, 2013 Share Posted April 4, 2013 (edited) Hands in pockets is a subtle sign of a lack of confidence; protecting your hands and keeping your arms close to your side as if you are shying away from something. It's quite evident in the 2nd images; who looks more confident - the guy looking down, hands in pockets, or the fella with a big sh*t eating grin, arms swinging like they're on fire? Niko had a confident walk and, while I obviously want each of the new character's to have their own style, I'd still like it with their hands out their pockets, chin up, looking confident. I think peds putting their hands in & out of their pockets (without them clipping through their clothing), might be more work than it's worth. If it isn't, then yes I'd like to see as many different npc animations as possible. Just from the screenshots, I can see quite a few new things in that regard. @UncleVlad Oh yeah, oops. IV was rather ordinary as far as the variety in pedestrian animation is concerned: They either walked with their arms wide away from their bodies or walked with both eyes on their cellphone - placed inside the palm of their right hands. Sometimes, the cellphone gets replaced with a coffee cup. I know that there are a few more variations in their walk but the aforementioned animations were the most obvious. They capture three fifferent people walking, and depending on attitude, they will all be different. I see Trevor walking with determination, looking side to side, maybe somewhat brisk. Michael walks slow with his hands in his pockets. Franklin probably has a bounce in his step. It's possible he may have a ghetto swagger because of former gang life. Maybe not.
