Durden
So as we all know, unfortunately, R* pushed back GTAV's release by 4 months, to September. By means of simple mathematics, we can interpolate that GTAV would've released in May next month. Here's where R* say 4 months: Anyways, I think we should not dwell on the delay some more, but instead reflect upon a few things, such as the journey thus far and the journey forward. How are you responding to the delay so far? Has the delay had any short-term or long-term effects on your anticipation/expectations for GTAV, or changed your outlook towards R*? What would you have anticipated yourself doing at this point to prepare for V, if it were still on track for May? Discuss any and all of it. ------------- For myself, GTAV seems to deviate further and further away from my grasp. Even though it's inevitable, I often feel as though GTAV is merely a dream; or something that is unlikely to ever happen. You know, like when you imagine banging Selena Gomez, or wonder what it would be like to venture into space. It's like imagining a new color -- the entire game seems so... foreign to me for some reason. Not like a casual GTA game, but something greater. Although at times, I do get hopeless like yesterday for example. I have very negative days occasionally where I frantically ask myself "what if it's not as great as it seems? Will I still be playing the game come October/November?" It really pains me to know that GTAV would've been in my possession next month, but at the same time I take comfort in R*'s words of re-assurance when they make GTAV seem so glorious and remind us of their exhausting efforts to make this game truly unparallelled to anything like we've seen before. Beginning on September 17, we will get to play GTAV all we want, to our heart's content. But the wait for this game dies on that same date. Therefore, I believe its important to embrace the journey that is the wait of GTAV. It has been an epic ride so far, and things should only escalate from here on. Here's to the imminent release of the game that we're all here to love. May these next few months provide us with patience and peace of mind. Vanzant
They put a lot into the game that's for sure! I'm fine with the wait. When I saw all the stuff we will be able to do over the past few months it's going to be worth it. They need to keep up with the good work. RichyB
Didn't they delay IV more than once? I'm not even betting on a September release TBH. I would be very damaging to Rockstar if they didn't meet this promised release date but I honestly would not be surprised it ended up being delayed again. evoluon--720
They delayed GTA 4 & San Andreas once or twice but no where near as far back as GTA5 Im still really excited. R* are perfectionist and im glad they're taking their time with this one. September isnt that far away. If youre in school or working time is going to fly by. Especially this summer. and there are plenty of games to hold us over until the release.. The anticipation and the long wait will make the game more monumental than it already is. Braindawg
This topic is just an example of what Rockstar can do to it's fanbase with a series of good games. People want this game so much that it inspires them into making topics like this. I have complete confidence in Rockstar that GTA V is going to be an incredible experience for everyone, and I can't wait to finally play it! Miss Darko
Here's the way I feel about it. Let's forget about the reasons why V was delayed, and how that is ultimately beneficial for the game itself. Let's just think about the fact that it's no longer in our reach within a month. And now let's think that it was not delayed, that we are in fact getting the game in May and that it's just as a good as it would have been either way. Fast-forward to September 17th. By now you're already quite familiar with the game. You're not bored yet, because it's awesome and you're not sure if you'll ever bore of this game. But it's not quite the same anymore. Perhaps you've beaten the game and now you're replaying it. Perhaps you're going for 100% after having beat the singular story. Or maybe you're driving around and rampaging for the 100th time. Maybe you find yourself wishing you could experience the first time playing the game all over again: erasing your memory of it and starting from the beginning. Now... I'm not saying that the delay is a good thing. I wish I could play it today, and have it as good as it would have been. It's all circumstance, and it sucks. But I like to make the best of these situations. I feel that maybe it's not so bad that 5 and a half months from now, on September 17th, I'll be playing the game for the first time instead of wishing that I was. It sucks now, but eventually I'll be there, 5 and a half months from now, and I won't be able to turn back time. And I know that, on that day, I'll be glad it was delayed, even though I'm not right now (although I certainly understand and agree with their reasons, that doesn't make it fun). I don't expect everyone to look at it that way, but I think it's a good way. Edited April 2, 2013 by Mr. Darko

- Disco -
From the day Trailer 2 released to now is about the same amount of time we have to wait to play it. Summers usually fly by for me anyway. The wait will be over before you know it!
Capricornus
No one can deny that it would have been f*cking awesome to be playing GTA V in about another month, as opposed to waiting another 5 months. It sucks, but I am honestly fine with it. I always look at the fact that a lot of games that I eagerly anticipated, I had to wait for them, including GTA IV. I am fine with it. Durden
I'm glad that most of you are looking at the delay in a positive way That's exactly how I'm trying to look at it. Mr Darko has a good philosophy, that's an unsettlingly true perspective that we would've wished we could experience that fresh feeling once again. Considering the fact that I go to the army in July, and won't be getting much play time until December, I feel a bit sad. I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure you'll be too busy saving the country to be thinking about GTAV You can always hope for another delay, though! As for a second delay, look at the rate that we're getting new info -- another delay is looking pretty doubtful these days honestly makes me feel like I hate my life i could have been playing this all summer but no i have to go on stupid vacations with the girlfriend. GTA will always be better then women Amen to that, man. GTAV > Basic survival > Women That's a good point, Agenda21. From trailer 2 to now wasn't that long at all, really. Its calculations like these that make us realize how close V really is. Until then, there's no deficiency of great games to play. Not to mention the upcoming Summer, which is basically 2 months that fly by if you're in school!

AtomicPunk
The whole 2405 thing was real, except it wasn't 2012, it was 2013. That still blows me away. "We aim not to lose it" my a$$! But it does suck knowing that had it not been for the delay we would be in heaven in just a little over a month. It's been so long since we've played a new GTA that most of us woulda felt like a virgin all over again. It could've been: 'The summer of GTA'. Oh well. We don't have long to go, that is, ifns there ain't no mo delays.

GTADrinkandRock
It actually doesn't bother me much. I'm going through a rough spot right now but am just starting to see the light. If things go well in the next few weeks I should be well on my way to having the things I need to properly enjoy GTA V when it comes out. Even if things were totally awesome for me right now, I wouldn't be too upset about the delay. If it takes an additional 4 months to make V the best it can be, all the more power to R*. At least they try to put out games that are well polished, unlike another game company I know of.
VLongo92
Considering by the time may comes around it will be 4 months since the delay. Its going by fast for me. And now it will be a fast few months of info, trailers, hype and jokes. All we have to do is make it another 4 after may.
