The dog, Michael on the Jetski, Trevor with a sniper at Vinewood Plus it's awesome that Rockstar have continued the 'Helicopter in the top left' tradition Thanks for posting that, ive been trying to do that for the last 24hrs but not had the time to actually post it lol. They used PS3 for press demo, so 99% sure it's the lead platform. And the artwork on the wall is painted from the PS3's cover, because the Xbox360's cover is a bit taller. I don't know if you know where you are, but this is the box art thread, where people discuss their opinions about the box art. They aren't giving up physical games yet and won't for many years to come. You are quite right, however anything can happen in the next 5-8 years(probably longer given Rockstar's track record). Complete edition games don't really count. I sincerely hope this isn't the last physical Box art, (everyone loves having a physical product), and IMO there's enough space in the market for both brick&mortar and digital distribution. Andreas Posted April 3, 2013 Share Posted April 3, 2013 It was already confirmed in November by a french website that GTA V does not have a lead-platform; it's seperatly and simultaneously developed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. @ Carl CJ Johnsons Brother Brian: yeah, that is true actually. But you can see which is their favourite though for this game, don't you think? I don't think that the reason why the demo of the game was shown on the PS3 is that this platform is the lead-platform, and I also don't think that the PS3 is now Rockstars favourite platform. They don't have a "favourite platform" in this case because both consoles are important and both of them sold over 70 million times, each between their releases and now. Past Rockstar titles were developed for Xbox 360 and then ported to the other platforms which was reasonable if you think about it. Microsoft released the X360 back in November 2005 and Sony did not release their console earlier than November 2006. One year is a long time and since next-gen titles were already in development back then, e.g. GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, et cetera, there had to be a platform to develope these games. Rockstar had obviously a developer kit from Sony as well as they had one from Microsoft but if you read the news from various gaming websites after the release of GTA IV in 2008, then you'll know that the dev kit from Sony wasn't very good organized. L.A. Noire was an exception as the lead-platform of that game was the PS3 but you have to consider that L.A. Noire was supposed to a PS3-exclusive title which was changed later then since the development costs rised up. As I already mentioned, GTA V is seperatly and simultaneously developed for both consoles so basically like Rockstars latest title Max Payne 3. If you have played MP3 or if you saw so some comparison videos then you know that the differences between the both console versions are not that big. The only difference is that light sources don't render as far on the PS3 as on the Micorosoft console and that's something you will barely notice. I think that the demo of GTA V was shown on PS3 because Rockstar managed it to finally use the full potencial of the consoles. Each version will probably have their own advantages, although, I think the difference won't be much in the end. It's amazing how much the engine has improved in the last years.
