I do believe most GTA titles have used artwork on the box art that's been shown before the box art has been revealed. I might be wrong. So, feel free to correct me if I am. As for analysing the game, bear in mind that artwork doesn't always represent gameplay and the game's actual world. For instance, let's say I were to analyse GTA SA's artwork. The blonde whore would have been a character, the streets would have had names, we would have been able to shoot pistols from a bicycle, and we would have been able to ride trolleys (which I believe was originally in the beta). The (ugly) truth though, is that this could have been done by a fan aswell and that it comes like a month late.
