I have $30 on it so far. I still get periodically excited about it when I think about it. I know it's going to be the only game I buy this year. Glad I found these forums because I think my friends have been getting tired of me ranting on about V everyday since it was announced. I can rant all day here and everyone else is doing the same. Now I'm just waiting patiently for their supposed release date, silently hoping they don't delay again but half-expecting one, checking the forums only when I have nothing else to do... GTA V is pretty much the last game I'm interested in playing this generation, so this means there's not much to play for me for the next 6 months, so I'm just doing other things. Besides, the game looked pretty complete from what they've shown. Then again it's good to know they're taking their time to make sure it actually is. Even before the delay, my hype began to decrease. Then when the delay hit, it was pretty much gone. I used to visit the forums multiple times a day, then after the delay it was maybe once or twice a week. But lately I've found myself visiting the forums more often, and it seems as if more and more great and interesting topics have started to pop up again. So what do you think? Am I the only one who's hype is starting to grow again, or are you all feeling this too? If so, why do you think it is? Yup!!! This week prepare yourself! R* breaks silence! GTAv is already out dated and isnt even coming out on pc. One of the biggest gaming let downs of my life. Why am i waiting a half a year for an old game? I'm even a little hyped about a Saints Row game for the first time, because the newest one finally seems different enough. When R* wants people to be hyped about GTA V, they'll give us something new. They want us to calm down right now which is why their marketing is nonexistent. TTWO is cool with that, because Bioshock Infinite gets all of the spotlight at the moment. Miss Darko Posted March 25, 2013 Share Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) Yeah, I can't say I'm all that hyped for V right now. I am just as interested in it as I've always been, though. It's pretty much the only game I'm looking forward to, and it's the only 'for sure' purchase this year. I know I'm going to love the game and there's very little that disappoints me that I know about, so it's gonna be awesome. But right now, it doesn't feel tangible enough for me to get those butterflies in my stomach. My lack of hype is due to the delay; not because of the disappointment associated with it, but because since it's further away, there's just not much to look forward to in the time being. If it hadn't been delayed, of course, we'd probably know that it was going to be out in like less than two months, and I'd be hyped out of my mind. So basically it's a matter of time before I get hyped again. There's a lot else on my mind at the moment, and we've got a while to go. So I'd say that my hype is closely linked to the proximity of the game's release. At the moment, it's far away, and it's pretty leveled out. Later this year, though, and I'll be back to where I was before the delay happened (and by then we'll know whether or not it's been delayed again, so I wouldn't have that gnawing at the back of my mind either when I'm thinking about GTA V; obviously this is assuming that it won't). I think it's more dependent on that than it is on R*'s communication. @BlackNoise I think that's the case, as well. The lack of hype isn't necessarily a bad thing, as that's exactly what would drive us crazy during the wait. R* can easily churn up the hype if they wanted to, so this is a choice on their part as well that we be willing to forget about V for a while (they're not monsters, after all). I think lack of interest is probably a better way to describe the way some people are feeling though, that for whatever reason, their desire for the game in general has diminished, perhaps partly due to lessened respect for R* or less faith in the game turning out well. I personally don't agree with those people, but it's probably the case for some, rather than simply less hype. I'll buy GTA day one (or just a couple of days later) because it's the game I love the most, but if I was an "occasional player" I don't have too much info right now to undertand if the game is worth buying. We have three protagonists with the new "switch" thing and we don't know how it works, we have a map and we still don't know how big it is, we barely have a story, with a description (5-6 robberies) that don't say too much about the plot... plus, there are some cool things in the trailer that we don't know if they are real or not (like the train crash or climbing buildings... I can do this in free-roaming or it's just part of a scripted mission?) They said they do not want to spoil the game with too much infos, but what's the purpose if, 1-2 week before the relase, we will be flooded with news and trailers? I'm almost done with this games marketing. One more major screw up or lie and I am out the door. I have other cool games to look forward to like: • Forza Motorsport 5 • Need for Speed(2013) • Watch Dogs In fact, I am far more hyped about FM5 than I am about V. Additionally, I've stopped playing IV recently because I just cannot stand waiting. It's boring playing IV in hype of V if there is no good new info coming nor any hype. Also, an old game? Just because new consoles are coming out doesn't mean its outdated, GTAV can easily compare to the games that were shown on ps4.
