Game Crashing to Desktop when there's a Fire

Like I've written in the title, whenever there's a fire in my game it just crashes.

It doesn't crash immediately, but a couple seconds after a fire starts - be it from a car reaching 0 health, a molotov, an RPG etc. I just get "GTA IV Has Stopped Responding", then it closes. I tried to see if it was something to do with the fire effect crashing the game, so I tried vanilla and a couple of fire/explosion mods yet the game crashes regardless.

I've spent about 30 minutes googling and it doesn't seem like anyone else has got this error, hence if anybody can help me I'd be grateful.

EDIT: Seems like game fixed it itself. Hopefully it doesn't come back.

You better get rid of those mods homie, people don't help plug-in'ers here.

 

Anyway, where did you get the game from? Is that a original copy or a pirated one? Also, try the below suggestion and see if it fixes the problem.

 

1| Turn Vsync off.

2| Uninstall and re-install your game.

3| Once again, get rid of the mods.
