Stephan90
On a scale from 1 to 10: - German (10) - English (9) - French (7) and I know a number of Spanish and Italian words To all who know Mandarin. How complicated is it compared to other languages, which I haven't learned yet like Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese? Is there a good internet page where you can learn the basics or do you need to go to a course to learn it properly? Space Cowboy
Slovak- obviously I know this as this is my mother tongue. Czech- Slovak and Czech people know that these languages are so similiar, though for foreign people who learned only one of these languages it may not be that easy. But since my childhood I always watched in TV Czech stations, so I know Czech language perfectly. English- I'm not perfect in it, but I understand pretty much everything German- I'm learning this one at the moment, I started 1.5 years ago though I have very limited understanding of this language. And I'd love to know Russian one day.

Kaydee.
Learned English only to have something else in my curriculum. Portuguese is my mother language. You don't learn other languages at school? In some countries you don't learn other languages at school, it's normal. Edited March 22, 2013 by Kaydee. I have been told that Russia is not that hard, as it's Slavic language and my mother tongue is Slovak so maybe it has some similiarites, but Russian font (i dont know proper name of it in english) is a bit hard. When we had the choice between French, Russian and Latin as second foreign language in school, many people said that Russian was easier than French. However, I chose French. (Would have taken Spanish if it was taught) My mum had only A's (1's) in Russian. Edited March 22, 2013 by Stephan123
Ari Gold
English and Serbian (and, by default, Croatian, Bosnian and Montenegrin). I could also get by with Macedonian and Bulgarian, 'cause they're so damn similar to the latter.

Durden
A few words of my Greek heritage, and a 68% in grade 9 applied French. Oh yeah, and English. I am very proficient in English for whichever grade I end up in -- It's depressing for me to get anything less than a 90%. English is all I want to focus on; I just don't feel like being bi-lingual would be of any practical use to me. Although it would be nice to finally understand what my Greek cousins are saying, especially during heated arguments.

Anyway, I speak English well enough, though I think that my understanding of punctuation is rather lackluster. I'm also alright at German, though not fluent. Know a couple of Dothraki words too. Master of San Andreas
I speak fluent English. I also speak Tamil (which is my mother tongue) but I'm not very good at it. Yes I know it sounds idiotic not knowing your own mother tongue fluently but I think Tamil is the most difficult language in the world. There are some many letters with the same pronunciation. So it get's really hard. I also know a bit of French, Hindi, German and Spanish.
