I will be Exploring Free Roam with friends after I complete about 5 missions and offline free roam to get a feel of the game.

Can't wait to see people raging against modders on PC and they end up coming here to complain about it as if it will help.

I'm going in hard either as a lone wolf or with a crew. I want to start making money and ranking up on MP mode as quickly and as much as possible. Then after playing online all night after midnight release, I'll play the campaign when I wake up. I usually do it the other way, but I think R* is gonna knock it out of the ballpark this time when it comes towards the multiplayer . panic.gif

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of people who would just jump straight into MP without completing the campaign first. I realise it's your game and you're free to do whatever the hell you want, but it just seems like you aren't appreciating R*'s work in regards to all the hours, days, weeks, years of hard work put into the story telling.

This isn't CoD here.

I'll be nice to players in FM and allow a few into my private jet. When we're high and over the mountain range, I'll nose dive and then bail out of the jet. Hopefully the players wont have any time and blow up with the plane that crashed into a mountain side. I'll parachute somewhere safe, laughing. I'll probably get kicked lol, I don't care. devil.gif

Find the fighter jet and kill everyone that is trying to explore, laugh endlessly as they rage.

I'll probably make my character and then just free roam to see what happens.

I'll finish single player first though, unless the rumour of the fourth player on the wheel being your multiplayer character and you seamlessly connect to the online world, then I may do some of my initial exploring online.

giving rockstar £40 is enough to show your appreciation. And just because people will go multiplayer first doesn't mean they wont play story mode.

Also, this thread is "what will you do in mp first" not "what is the first thing you will do when you launch the game."

OT: some free roam, then some races, but I do want to explore and discover the map while doing the story.

Which is nothing when you consider the amount of hours upon hours of entertainment the game will provide.

And just because people will go multiplayer first doesn't mean they wont play story mode.

But isn't one of the points of the story to introduce you to all the areas of the map and demonstrate the features of the game? Why anybody would want this spoiled for them by jumping straight into MP the second they have the game is baffling to say the least.

And trust me, there are countless others who have said the same on this forum.

Like I said, it's up to you what you do with your game, but I will never understand why you would choose a game like GTA to play it that way. It just reminds me of all the CoD kids who do the same with their sh*tty franchise.

Plenty of them online in GTA IV. Only got "off the boat trophy" and some other early one but rather stick to MP. It's alright though. Many people can't appreciate the work and effort R* put into this.

Then again, R* will make hundreds of millions of dollars, so, as someone said before: that's a lot of appreciation and, let's be honest, what R* wants.

I'm going to be blunt. Does anybody really care to be honest? I mean as you said, it is their game, but there isn't actually a wrong way to play the game. People should just play it the way they're comfortable playing it. It's obvious R* put a lot of work into the story, yada-yada-yada we get it. But some people just don't give a damn about the story and rather just enjoy multiplayer and just play it whenever they want, they don't have to complete the storyline yet.

Just let them do what they wanna' do. Migrating to MP the minute your game starts does not mean they won't truly appreciate R*'s work. Honestly, I'll complete the storyline first and I thoroughly enjoy their storylines but honestly who cares? This is GTA, tis about having fun and exploring. And to me the storyling is not nearly the soul or best thing in a GTA. It is the immense detail and exploring. R*'s greatest work is their detail around the map and the map itself. And some want to explore the map first thong mostly with friends. So be it I don't blame 'em.

Yeah, it just grinds my gears that these so called GTA "fans" simply don't give a sh*t about such a huge aspect of the game, as derping around in free mode is something that holds much higher importance to them.

Nice sig btw.

Thank you.

This is the polarizing aspect among GTA fans.

Many appreciate the story, details, degree of realism, the depth of the plot (even in random peds' missions, etc.), but

others don't like this.

The main aspect that appeals to them is the basis of every GTA game, as the title already indicates: stealing cars. And additionally, cause mayhem.

It would be interesting to see how many people buy this game because of the freedom to do "anything" and ones that appreciate the plot, the characters, etc.

@junkpile

Like I said , I understand that everyone has different tastes and desires when it comes to gaming. For example, when I first played the original top-down GTA's, I never gave a donkey f*ck about the story as all I wanted to do is go crazy, steal cars, run over peds, blowtorch people etc. So I can understand that there are certain people who just find that aspect the most fun and appealing.

The thing is though, we've come along way since those games in terms of story telling and cinematic game play. Unlike that god awful CoD franchise, R* actually care about their products, and the devotion to depth and character is second to none as far as I'm concerned. I know I really shouldn't give a rats arse about whether somebody plays the campaign or not, but I just feel those people who just dive straight into MP when purchasing a GTA, or any R* title, belong to sh*t fests like that little game where you run around shooting in fps year after year on the same rehashed old crap.

Okay, whatever The Scottish Guy. I'm quite sure most people are going to explore the map in single player first thing before they do the storyline.

In older GTA's you were forced to stay where you are and with progress in the storyline, you unlocked parts of the map and could explore more.

But V, it's all open from the start. Nobody really needs the storyline to explore the map now.

Unfortunately, some players are so competitive they want to jump into MP and rank up as soon as possible so they have an edge when all us SP guys finally show up. I think it's a silly reason to spoil the map, as I find it much more meaningful to first experience it during SP, but to each his own.

Exactly. But I guess online gaming scores and ranks are what matter most to these guys. Like I say, CoD players spring to mind when thinking of these type of gamers.

Well considering we're playing as three protags this time around, having them all in the same location at the start would seem kinda...I dunno....silly? R* had to make the map fully unlockable to cater for this "bold, new direction". It still doesn't deter the fact that story is what attributes to you learning new features of the game.

Yeah, which is why I heavily advise getting as much MP in when the game releases before these puke kid assholes take over and completely destroy the games online experience.

Do you mean to advice to play as much MP as possible when the game comes out, before the modders ruin it?

And i thought there was no modding when playing with xbox/ps, or am i wrong?
