Kifflom112
But I don't expect more from an idiot who needs to separately post that he's going to "reply with some input" before actually just replying. I was on a mobile device, smartass. Sorry I missed out on the input part because just describing how you're going to have a nerdgasm gawking at these "soothing" hypothetical waves isn't any input at all. Oh god just close your mouth. You flip out over a three word post directed towards you? D-really? Really man? That is incredibly ridiculous. GimpWithaYoyo
I really like your hotel idea. both ideas, actually. but I'd like to be able to spend three or four "days" in a hotel. it would be different for each character. with Michael, you're there to get away from the chaos at home, relax and drink whiskey. with Franklin, you're there to live the high life, take it easy, drive nice cars, go out on the town. with Trevor, you're there to have a drug-fueled binge and go on a rampage inside the room. so many different ways to approach it. it would add a level of immersion that is much needed. DoomsdayFAN
As far as checking into the hotel goes they should give us the option of either going straight into a room (ala RDR where you just walk into the colored icon and purchase the room right then and there) or for those who want to, the full check-in process. I'm not expecting 100% lifelike sim waves, but something that at least makes me think "Wow, these are some of the best in-game waves I've seen yet" would be nice. I just hope they get the sound right if they go for anything. GTA IV's ocean was pretty lifeless drab.
Durden
Pretty cool suggestion. I was dreading this topic for I thought it would be pretty stupid, but you've proven otherwise. Now I really want a variety of rooms like you listed. That could create some very cool missions. The FIB supplies you with the cash to rent a 1-night "view suite", along with a Sniper Rifle with a Night Vision scope (If he wants task done at night). You've got to assassinate an IAA manager in the early morning at 6:00am as he gets his desk prepared, or is eating at a diner, etc... Anything that's near the hotel. Then you just casually check out of the hotel
grandola
*snip* This infamous wave at Newport Beach has claimed more lives than serial killers. Where the hell are the cops on this? Are you telling me that some wave comes in, kills some guy, then crashes ashore, only to get away in front of numerous witnesses, and slink back into the sea? I mean I don't know how many people visit Newport Beach each day, but odds are atleast one of these folks must have seen this infamous wave. I know some waves do look alike, but we must stop this wet murderous menace before he/she/it strikes again! LOL. Read just like an Onion piece. Nice. OT: Id love waves! Any link to those waves in MP3 someone mentioned above? Edit* saw the video... those'waves' weren't that impressive... lol Edited March 22, 2013 by grandola
rare.steak
But I don't expect more from an idiot who needs to separately post that he's going to "reply with some input" before actually just replying. I was on a mobile device, smartass. Apologies. I'm not smart enough to realise that we lose our ability to think and respond while mobile.
rare.steak
Edit: and to add, there is a rendering program called RealFlow (used mostly by Hollywood for CGI effects) and it simulates real time wave breaking. It's pretty interesting. I know PS3 isn't capable at THAT level but it could come pretty close. Nice find. That's a good demo on a small body of liquid. Who knows what it's going to take for an ocean. Not yet bringing in the rest of the sandbox environment.
Game2048
My first thought was about Vice City for some reason. F*ck, so amazing atmosphere... Hotels, beaches, ocean... As for waves - I doubt it
DoomsdayFAN
Kind of a bummer, but I see nothing to indicate any waves at all in any of these pics: All looks as calm as a damn lake.

Highgrade89NewAccount
I like the hotel idea, and I think if you choose the presidential suite you should be given a rare Rolls Royce or something to drive around in for the time you stay, to make it more worth the money great ideas bud, hope they put something like this in!! tdog07029
Maybe a mission will require us to buy a specific room so we can get a vantage point to sniper someone in a building across the street
Xaynt
made a surfing game already on the ps2 once. They really should amp up some waves in San Andreas 2.0, even if it comes out shoddy. Fingers still crossed for proof of surf. And they better take us to Hawaii next time if they don't do surfing here. No surfing California? Come on, they're probably capable of anything. That's probably what the stall is for, making waves.
DoomsdayFAN
So I guess this mean waves! Sweet. I'm definitely excited to take a stroll along the beach and just watch and listen to the beauty of the beach.
