Paper Mario
Is it September yet?

Hmmm..

According to my calculations it is the 24th of may and we're in the year 9001 at the time of 13:37.

I can't be wrong.

Thank god for the image man, I would've never understood what you were talking about.

It's something that could be a bit useful at certain times, but you know you can already check what time it is using the phone?

OP, the word you are looking for is watch.

And no, that's one of those little details that I could do without.

There's a clock in the apartment safehouses in GTA IV and it shows game time. No big deal to have clocks in the game. But since we don't get the option to view our avatar from different positions in GTA games, it would not matter if we had a functional watch since we could not see it.

On the other hand, that GTAV art with Michael in the jewelery store looking at his watch. Hmmmm.... notify.gif

Maybe. After all, when it comes to stealing, timing is everything.

Watches could be useful to an certain extent, like displaying the current game clock all the time, like in past GTA games, without having to bother to push a button just to see it.

Because pressing one button takes so much effort and time.

^^^^^This made me laugh. You might as well not shoot, drive, move, buy things, or turn on your console. Not trying to bash but I had to LOL at that one.

I'm not saying it takes THAT much effort, but because having to stop what I'm doing at any given time (driving a car, flying a chopper) just to press a button to see the current time. It's annoying sometimes.

You can't deny it.

I know you.

Nah just jk lol =P

Only if I can get a massive pocket watch on a chain like Flavor Flav.

It'd be realistic to actually be able to check watches, but it's rather useless. All you have to do is pull up your mobile phone.

Ok maybe with the push of down on the analog (same as making mini map bigger) the time will display along with ammo but the avatar would just look at his watch as an animation.

You don't have to stop the car to take out your cellphone, you can even dial a number while driving, replay the game if you forgot the whole gameplay already.

Let me rephrase: I don't like at all the fact (I play on the PS3) that I must temporarily lose my ability to steer a car just to pull out the cellphone by pressing UP on the D-pad. Especially if you're speeding through a crowded street. Getting your left thumb off the analog stick to press a button just sucks in my opinion.

I live in LA So i have a clock too.

I'd like to see the time on a watch, but it would be too small probably.

I buy my watches form a store here in LA, where I live.

A few years ago, a friend of mine said his kid in middle school would not wear a watch because of peer pressure -- it indicated that we wasn't rich enough to have a cell phone, which all the cool kids use to check the time. Watches = very uncool.

So I think it will work like this in GTAV:

Michael will look at his watch. (old school)

Franklin will pull out his smartphone. (child of the modern age)

Trevor will wrench somebody's arm out of its socket to check their watch. (remorseless psycho)

Try the standard control scheme. Using the cell phone won't interfere with car steering or acceleration.

Coincidentally, I just defended the standard controls for this very reason in The Scottish Guy's thread: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?act=ST&...entry1062308856

Is this is an actual saying or did you get this from Sly Cooper?

I dont see a problem with this. SA and SR had the ability to wear a watch, but for no purpose. Pressing BACK/SELECT would have the protag bring his arm up to see the time. Possibly useless, and i doubt they'd do it, but would be nice for immersion.

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

I think it would be funny if Trevor didn't have a cellphone, and instead just used his digital watch for things.
