evoluon--720 Posted March 20, 2013 Share Posted March 20, 2013 Ive been lurking this forum for awhile now-thought Id join and share some point of views being a GTA stan and a Los Angeles Resident. Ive been seeing alot people talk about the return of the Ballas and Grove St in the next GTA and I believe they will for one reason- The Bloods and Crips (and gang culture in general) is still a major part of Los Angeles/Southern California culture! So they'll have to throw in some counterparts to the infamous and notorious gangs. It wouldnt make sense if there were no serious street gangs in this game. Even though its "Heist Heavy" I think the protagonist or at least Franklin will be involved in the South Los Santos street culture My guess is- Franklin played it cool his whole life-avoided the gangs and did his own thing- eventually his peers dragged him into it. As a result he's gained enemies in the gang world. He even calls his friend out on 'still slanging dope and throwing up gangsigns" in the trailer. So im sure that will be some sort of backstory. It would make since. Ive been living here in LA for twelve years (im 21 now)... When I was younger-gang colors and the culture in general was at its peak- but over the years- its been dying down. Gang Colors arent really a problem anymore- the homicide rate in South Central communities isnt as genocidal as it used to be (still got some rough areas though),, but the gangs are still here and function heavy on smaller and more lowkey levels. All of the gangs here still have a strong presence. So yea- im sure the gangs wont play a major role like in GTA San Andreas but im sure the Ballas and Grove St and the other gangs they've created in the past will. Rockstar is known to continue franchises/groups within the game (ie Cluck n Bell-Pay n Spray- 8Ball). PS Im sure the guy running from the Dog in trailer is a Baller. and Franklins wearing a green rag in one of the pictures Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And you know they gotta throw in a counter part to MS 13 and the Mexican Mafia gangs. The fastest growing and most dangerous gangs in the California right now. So yea.. In a few minutes someone (usually european )will prob come into the thread and say otherwise, some variation on 'Guys...that was the 90's ok? I played San Andreas I should know ok?'. Gangs have always been a big thing there -especially in the downtown area. And that street is one of the landmarks in the hood along with the towers. So if they really stick with the Los Angeles nostalgia- they'll throw all that hood sh*t in there.
