phandinhkhai_tn
when i passed a red light in game , that is a violation of traffic laws. But GTA designed that Police did not catch that fault. I think GTA V's Developers should build this function. It should be a great function. I think it would be more interesting.

Vanzant
The average person doesn't want that. The reason being is because the "authority" are after you over very serious crimes not over sh*t that warrants traffic tickets.

rare.steak
Ok police commander in chief, what's next not to talk on your I fruit while driving to your mission? Unbelievable. You're actually making a sensible point.
K-Malo94
Like I said in a previous thread. USE YOUR f*ckING IMAGINATION. There are lots of situations where you don't have time to sit in traffic all day.
Travís.
how about we not ruin the game with simple laws like this.
saintsrow
At least in GTAV they could have some traffic cam strobelights flash when you go through the intersection. And just like in real life, you can't tell if it is because you are the violator, or someone behind you. The strobes are a great way to cause driver distraction. In GTAV, rather than have cops chase us on a red light violation, we can receive a periodic bill for a few thousand dollars based on the virtual traffic cam. Maybe they can eve send us a picture on our in-game cell phones showing us at the wheel of whatever car we had when the violation occurred. ChocoFrosty
This has been discussed before. Most recently: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=548533 And again, that kind of realism is too extreme. I don't think many people playing GTA want to have the cops on their tail more than they are already.

You know, RCT3 does simulate the breaking of rides, but not only do I have a cheat to turn it off, but the sense of motion is so good that I can just feel the G forces of another ride while the broken one is being fixed. This isn't mafia III we're talking about here, fellas. I want a little more escapism than "Ooh you can sit in traffic".

Some rules just shouldn't be in GTA, No matter how much realism it loses.

kesta195
I believe violating traffic laws in IV caused any nearby police car to momentarily turn the siren on, but there were no further consequences. Keep it like this.
Deffpony
I think that GTA IV did it right. When you ran a light cops would flick their sirens at you but no wanted level. It's a nod that they know you are doing wrong but that it's not worth pursuing. This kind of realism would be absurd.
GarrowsKai
Running red lights is going to far with the realism. I want realism where it would add a challenge (limited weapons/ammo) but not make the game tedious (running out of fuel/police attention for red lights). As someone has mentioned the police flicking the siren/lights on when they see you run a red but not pursue is enough to add realism but not impede gameplay. On the theme of police realism however I think being able to pull over and pay a fine/bribe for 1 star traffic crimes (hitting a police car etc) could be good. It would work by for a small time after the police first start to pursue you can pull to the side of the road and stop (the police bullhorn would be commanding you to stop), the cop gets out and you pay him $50. However you could also keep driving/pull away when he is walking to your car and a standard 1/2 star chance would ensue.
