It's funny that so many people want tolerence for the gang/street culture in GTA, but will not be tolerant towards the gay culture. I would think a group a guys that worry about what colors and style other men are wearing would be ok with gay men, since they have so much in common.

The reason being is because GTA has always been a game about gangs and crime and the protagonists are always heterosexual males, DUH.

 

Plus, with the exception of Gay Tony, gay culture has never really been a central theme for GTA. So when you look at the demographic of GTA gamers, it is not surprising to get a hostile and negative response to anything gay within GTA.

If gay bars make Los Santos more like Los Angeles, then it would be a good idea to include them.

I fail to see what harm gay bars could do to the game. Its all about providing the game environment with a rich texture. If the addition of gay bars helps achieve this, that's great, if they don't there's no use in adding them.

I think it could make it so you could do a mission like the one in iv where you try to date french tom but instead you could have to try to lie to them in the bar as probably michael or franklin.

Close minded about what? Most of the human race are not gay. And most people do not give a f*ck what your sexual orientation is. It's when it is forced on people is when it becomes a problem. Strip bars are a part of society now. a straight society. You wouldn't ever see me go to Japan and march up and down the streets screaming at people because I don't like what their culture is, or what is considered normal there. I would respect it. There is no respect in Amerika anymore and that's why there will be revolutions/civil war. The backbone of Amerika are at the breaking point.

1. no one is forcing you to buy a gta with a gay protag, if it bothers you that much don't buy it (if there was to be one).

3. there is no such thing as a "straight" society (unless you believe ahmadinejad), all societies are composed of disparate groups which coalesce to form a society.

What's wrong with that ? If people don't wanna see it, they have a right to feel that way, because they don't wanna see it, many people still feel alien to it and disgusted by it. They can't help but feel that way, just the same way gay men can't help having sexual feelings for other men. You can spin it any way you want, but you just need to accept the harsh reality that homosexuality in most societies, even liberal Western ones, is still largely not the norm, probably never will be. It is a generally accepted fact that a homosexuality is a normal occurrence in human societies, but it is clearly not a biologically natural human form of sexuality.

 

As for tolerance and equality, yeah I can agree with that, but I don't see why homosexuality should be pushed in other people's faces when it is not the norm.

 

You're not gay, so just relax and stop being so defensive about this subject all the time.
