Skizor1337
The reason I am making this post is because i have spent at least a good full 2 days trying to find out how to get my GTA IV to work properly. Heres some of the things i have done. Over and over again and still no results 1. Reformatted computer (Clean of everything except GTA IV) 2. Downloaded all drivers for my graphics card (EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT 512-P3-N954-TR 512MB DDR2 SDRAM PCI Express x16) 3. All patches for GTA IV have been installed. 4. Re-installed and repeated processes over again just for the hell of it. 5. Compatability mode changed to windows 2000, windows xp service pack 2, and 3. Still No results Heres my Computer Specs Dell Vostro 220 Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16GHz 4Gigs RAM NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT Direct X 11 Someone please help me out with either a list of things to try or an overall solution. I wouldn't ask this question if i didn't google the hell out of every error and complication i ran into. The worst part of all of this is I used to play this game on high details like 2 years ago when i had a bunch of sh*t on my computer already. Now i have nothing on it and it doesn't even run. Someone please help me i would greatly appreciate it. I just am out of ideas. Also i have the details and all on Low and the game still crashes. I know im missing something but i really cant figure it out. Edited March 19, 2013 by Skizor1337

Shiva.
Where did you get the game from? Did you try installing the GFWL Update? Also, try deleting your game settings file. Hope this helps, mate.
Skizor1337
Ok i bought the game at Walmart. I installed all updates as requested. Still not working. I either get the WS10 or RMN errors when i launch the game. Or i play the game for 10 mins and it crashes. Im just super confused considering the game ran fine like a year or two ago. There has to be something else that is missing or not working right. Please let me no Edited March 19, 2013 by Skizor1337
Prometheus
Not sure if it will work, but you could try installing .NET Framework 3.5.

Skizor1337
After calling Microsoft and Rockstar i still haven't been able to figure this one out. The event logger shows nothing about the game crashing except this one error. Title GTAIV.exe (1, 0, 0, 0) XLive 3.5.0092.0 (WGX_XLIVE_V3.05_RTM(panblder).110928-1730) C:\Windows\system32\xlive.dll 0x80004005 I still cant figure it out. I can play the game for like 5 minutes with no lag or problems then it says "Entering Power Save Mode" and the game crashes along with my pc. Someone please give me ideas or something. I went and reformatted my computer Again with a Microsoft technician and got every driver i could possibly need. Im so frustrated because i have ran this game on full settings over a year ago. With older drivers, so im confused as hell
Shiva.
Judging by the error nessage, you're recieveing, I doubt your "xlive.dll" is corrupted. Downloadand install Xliveless from here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=388658 Copy and paste the "xlive.dll" into your GTA IV game directory and see if it sorts the issue. Skizor1337
Hey man thanks for the little file patch but.............. Still crashing. I just dont understand why its still crashing i used to play the sh*t out of this game with High settings no problems. Something isnt right and i cant figure out why it wont show up in the damn "Event Viewer" I was on the phone with Microsoft and Rockstar for like 2 hours. I was able to update my BIOS and some other little things but still no luck.
Shiva.
Did you try deleting the game setting files as I instructed in my previous post. Just go to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings and delete everything you see there. Also, try uninstalling everything and re-install them. This could be my last suggestion, I guess.
Skizor1337
Still wont work. Im calling microsoft again and trying to figure out what the hell is going on. I just wish the Event Viewer would give me a damn clue. Its pissing me the hell off. I dont understand how over a ear ago with old drivers and loads of crap on the computer i can run the game fine. But when its a clean hardrive it doesnt work at all.
